This advice is from 5 decades of rationalizing spending money on toys to my wife. I’ve gotten pretty good at it. If you like, I can help you rationalize buying a gated manual shift Ferrari instead of the Porsche.
Love it.

I've been on the hunt for a gated Modena yellow F430 spider also to add to the stable. One just sold on BaT, but it was fetching over Scud $. I'd rather buy a scud and convert it for that cash.

I'd anyways said I was done after the R8 and the 3RS. But much like watches, I've got the itch to add.

Beautiful car your 360.

Well I think the thread has progressed enough we need to see all the Porsches now.

Mine is a 991.1 GT3RS
PTS RSGreen (original launch color on the 997 RS)

I also have an OEM Porsche watch to go with it, with a Porsche part number.

And I have my Sinn watch with carbon fiber dial that launched with the R8 also.
It's a really unique piece with the way the strap goes into the case and dial and depth of it.

I’ve had a couple of Porsches and a bunch of watches. I could never rationalize having the amount of money you have tied up in watches yet trading some for a car makes lot of sense to me. My 911 was a 991.1 and that’s what I would seek out if I ever get another.

Like someone said earlier, one car and one watch at a time. Get the car, enjoy the hell out of it with a watch you have left.

Get that 911! I’ve had them for 20 years and currently have a classic Guards Red 6MT Cab Black wheels and a very Loud and Rude exhaust! There is a feeling I can’t describe when I Rev that car in 3rd gear to 7 grand wearing my Daytona!

I say do it! Of course, I am a bit biased as I am a huge Porsche fan. There is no substitute!

(And the 991.2S is a great car and a blast to drive - you will love it!)

It’s a beautiful car, so as a (former) Porsche owner, I’d do it all day long!!!!

there is something about having a 991 and having a Rolex which goes together. Dont sell anything from this great collection. Have a 997.1 carrera however, with such a collection maybe you can nonetheless afford a 911? get the best of both worlds if you can!

Life is all about living your dreams. Your watches aren’t a dream anymore as it’s something you have.

Get the Porsche and live out another dream

The Turbo S is a slightly different animal in comparison to the Carrera S that I initially thought you were referring to. I would do the trade, instant torque and power, you will love the car

Keep the watches and buy a 981 Cayman S. Better weight distribution, naturally aspirated and just as much fun.

I'm way more of a watch guy but having the 911 while still having 2 fantastic watches sounds like a perfect balance.

I think swapping some watches for a 911 is a good idea.

If you can find a good pre 70's car or a 993, this is where I'd put my money, that's either the first or the last of the classic air cooled cars.

I am a car nut, so without going into details of how to rationalize, the car will give you a rush of adrenaline every time you drive it. When you sit and look at it in the garage at home, or when you park it and walk away and turn around to look at it one last time, it is something that is precious. I am also a damn watch nut, but there is a big difference in how a true sports car/exotic makes you feel. Do it, you can get those watches back one by one, whereas the car is tough to get in one shot.

Yes, I would drop to one watch and add any variant of 911 in a heart beat.

Purely on an economic plane, if you must sell watches to buy the 911 then you may not afford the service costs on a used one.

Not sure trading in watches for a car is a good idea. Unless it’s lopsided in your favor. Just get the car outright.

I think you need two 911s. Your first one you will make one or more mistakes on the spec and you won’t appreciate it until you have had it for a while. Then sell it and get your next 911. That one for me was perfect, and after a 5 year run I sold it.

Now I drive practical cars that don’t attract attention. My PTS 911 was fun for a while but ultimately I’d rather fly under the radar when I’m driving around town.
