I wish we would have moved up there instead of Katy.....lots nicer even though the homes cost more, it would have been worth it.
They have hundreds of miles of paved paths through the woods to walk and ride bicycles on...its really really nice up there, about 35 miles from our present house. If we would have moved there maybe I would not have hated Houston so much and want to move back to AZ.
She wanted to live close to grand-kid which is 2 blocks over...and now with the housing situation if I can sell this place Im going home.

Here are some shots of our house.

Front

Rear

No maintenance backyard

This usually sits in the garage when not in use.

Here are a couple of views from our getaway spot (2BR/2BA condo in Boca Raton)

We love it there, no matter what time of year. Actually summer is best when the crowds are gone.

Some nice homes in here. Here's my Vancouver place. Hotel is one half of the building, and up top are the residents who get to use *all* of the hotel services.

I live in a nice complex comprising 62 apartments. Sadly, we had a very serious "leaky building" problem which has all been fixed now.

Some before, during and after pics.....

BEFORE.....

DURING.....

And AFTER....

Yikes, JJ. Our building had the sprinkler system go off and from the 24th floor on down the hallways and everything were *flooded*. Luckily my unit was spared of any damage, but a lot of other units weren't so lucky. Only two weeks ago did they finally replace the wallpaper, carpeting and etc (this happened in September...). Water is so damn destructive!

In our case, the entire complex was affected due to faulty engineering and construction as well as poor material used.

In some of the pics, you can actually see me flaking away the rotten timber with my fingerss.....that's how bad it was.

Happily, it's all fixed now - took just about one whole year from start to finish.

My last house...

the ex wife has it now... and a satellite photo of my current residence in Des Plaines, IL. At least I am in the penthouse apartment looking east towards the City of Chicago with good views. Soon I will be moving to bucolic Fennville, MI. Google Earth doesn't even shoot a clear picture of it. The town is so small you can walk from end to end in seven minutes!

Here it is, a 1946 "Austerity style" (i kid you not) cottage. Currently rented so i have done nothing to it at all. Will need major $$$ to renovate inside and out when we do move in, but the area is really great! Bought more for the area and its facilities than the house itself.

Any advice on how to re-arrange the inside would be appreciated. The kitchen and dining are very dark at the moment - skylights maybe?

Last year, we gutted all the overgrown bushes from the front of the property, and I bought some expensive rosebushes and evergreen bushes in the spring - before the tall oaks had a chance to fill out with leaves. The nice patch of full sun I thought we had, turned into part sun when summer arrived.

My rose bushes adapted, but the bushes are toast.

x 2

I live in a shoe box here in Japan. So I decided to put up a picture of the view from my mum's house in Ruakaka, NZ instead. The house may not be worth million dollars, but view is. (IMO) Do you notice the crowded beach? And this was Boxing Day!

Similar thing happened to me - I should have waited until all of the seasons had passed to understand how and where there would be sunlight. As a result of my ignorance, the hydrangea I planted gets scorched in the summer; but in the winter the area is always in the shade!

I think I need to call on the pros - because I don't think Terry Newton would come down for a consult.

Don't really have any good pictures, other than of the doublewide.

Here is the main residence, well the back of it. Just you basic box.

Here is the chicken coup in the back that is now my poker liar. Got heat, light, beer fridge, and cable TV. Neighbours complained about the noise in the morning so the birds went and the Bubba pig moved in.

Here is the view from the double wide.

Here is the view from the wife's house on the intercoastal in Florida. Wife and kids go in the summer during the week and meet up with me at the double wide. I only go to this place once or twice a year, if that.

Ignore the idiot on the Gator. This is my cabin in the woods with no neighbours for miles. You can see a part of the cabin on the left and some of the boat house on the right. The rest of the property is mostly hardwoods with acres of baited dove fields.

One day I will take better pictures.
