The interlude, was as described, an absolute hammer, it was so strong it almost made me pass out. Washed my hands multiple times and still couldn't get rid of the nauseating smell.

Reflection 45 wasn't for me, I have a fairly large collection, 50+ bottles at this point and perhaps it was my skin chemistry but was underwhelmed with the various notes. Wanted to like it based on all the positive reviews but didn't find it unique nor particularly special. Maybe I received a bad sample but certainly not worth $500, better extraits in the same price point IMO.

Tom Ford releasing a new scent, December 20/21 2023, Vanilla Sex. Sounds interesting. My wife is excited to try it.

Glad to see this thread is still alive!

Still wearing and enjoying Creed Aventus. Recently added Gravite by Particle to my collection and really like it.

If you like MKF, I would highly encourage you to try their extraits, specifically Oud Satin Mood and Bacarat Rogue 540, the former being one of my favorites and never see anyone else wear - it is the bottle to the left of my large Bacarat. Longevity is WILD, I can smell it on my clothes a week later.

My every day is Bleu de Chanel EDT.
I really do like Dior sauvage also. I have the parfum, but I think I got the wrong bottle.
Do you guys prefer the sauvage EDP, or parfum?

Tried the Rouge and couldn't get into it... The OSM might be next.

I think people are saying I stink without saying it out loud. I’ve used Acqua di Parma and YSL before but not familiar with the others. Anyone use these? Sorry for the side photo. Don’t know why it does that.

Would you recommend the extrait de farfum, or eau de parfum? Going to check out the 540 and OSM.

I prefer the extrait, despite the price difference. Personally, I find the extrait not only lasts longer with better projection but brings out more of the underlying notes. With the OSM, give it a minute to settle down on your skin before judgement, it will open up to a much more complex fragrance than the initial turkish rose will lead on - make sure not to confuse the satin with silk, the latter IMO is much inferior. It projects a level of class and sophistication without being too much in your face, definitely more of an evening scent.

before you take the plunge...

A colleague I see a few times a year always wears baccarat rouge 540. Very distinctive, great projections, pretty noticeable. This summer I was at a wedding & saw my niece. I picked up the unmistakable fragrance on her & asked about it. She was wearing a clone, made by Dossier called Ambery Saffron. It was dead on, couldn't believe it. Best of all it's like $40 or so. Recently picked up their GIT inspired cologne, also dead on.

To me that is the same as buying knock-off clothing, eames chair, watches, lego, etc. You can find a replica of almost anything, but I prefer buying the original.

I understand the sentiment fully. But I will say this - in the fragrance space, the original doesn't remain the original for very long. Perfume reformulations happen CONSTANTLY, and almost always in the direction of cheaper ingredients when initiated by the manufacturer. Sometimes it is a regulatory thing or a sourcing thing, but normally it is for cost effectiveness. So I would say that 8 year after the original, it is likely no longer that anyway.

I ended up with the Grand Soir, the 540 was a little too floral for my liking.

On the rare occasion where I use a scent, it's either Creed Green Irish Tweed or Aventus EDP. Most of the time I go without.

My Wire picked up TF Vanilla Sex to add to her collection. Smells Great! Might be a good gift if you like it.
