I'm chinese born and bread in Sydney Australia....
But pretty asian at heart. A few pointers...(please dont take anything personally on what im about to say because i dont know you but just some handy tips) - Just be yourself. - I would sit across from her as most asian women are shy until they know you. - Flowers are good. - Listen. - Bragging is a no no. - Yes paying the bill is a plus. - Again Just be yourself. |

Good luck getting that date, All the advice so far is pretty good. And the small Italian place is a great idea.
That's always a test I use(never the Mario test), so long as the she's into classic cars. I typically date gear head women, hopefully tattooed. Nothin' says hello like rolling up in a loud, hot-rodded 71 Camaro. Especially in a decent suit and Rolex.

Holy Chihuahua, Rafael! While you're at it, why not just throw breadcrumbs in the park, and encourage your date to fight the pigeons for them?

This is a most interesting thread which I have enjoyed immensely. Lots of common sense advice shared here. I love learning about languages and cultures, too. I've been in a mixed, language/cultural marriage for almost 40 years. My wife was born deaf. I knew American Sign Language before I met her.
The only advice I have for someone who is just beginning in this type of relationship is to refrain from showing off your knowledge of her language and culture. If the topic comes up, by all means let her know of your interest. As others have said, be yourself. She is probably interested in knowing how you (Americans) act. She probably wants to learn about your culture and language. So, you help her with that. Let her take the lead on Chinese matters. Good luck and I can't wait for updates. Post pixs of both of you later.

Funny thread. Dated a few Asian girls, and they always get me in the knees. (My Hawaiian ancestry actually started in China).
Seriously, just be yourself. I am sure she is as nervous as you are. Um, have you asked her where SHE might want to go? (or has this been covered?) Be prompt, be genuine, dont forget to open her door for her. --- "Women always say they want a man who can make them laugh. This has really turned out to be a lot of fun, and some "interesting" posts... Hopefully not at the expense of the OP.
