Good thread mike !!

I don't think I can pull off all YG gold, but you make it look like a piece of cake

Of course brands could produce tourbillons or minute repeaters in steel cases but most don't. I wonder why Rolex doesn't produce a steel DD? At the end of the day, we buy what we like. Thankfully we all have different tastes. There's nothing complicated about it.
I agree. As soon as I got my Patek 5146 (my first yellow gold watch) I knew immediately I wanted a YG GMT IIc.

I understood some of the feelings people must have had during the gold rush period in the American west. There is something intoxicating about big bricks of precious metal and especially when they're touching your skin.

I think I'm done with steel, although I have quite a few in my collection.

A steel 14060M. Seriously, I wear these as circumstances/mood dictate and I have no worries about wearing them to work.

Great post. Really like the side by side for the YMII and the GMTII. There is a noticeable difference in the gold tones. Your collection is simply spectacular. Enjoy

I do indeed but they mostly sit forlornly at the bank as I much prefer wearing these nowadays. Yes I really should follow my own advice about selling off unworn pieces but I'm probably bequeathing them to my kids (despite their lobbying for the gold pieces).

Selling unworn watches, easier said than done...

My favorite is the RG model but I'm waiting/hoping it comes out on bracelet.

What a fantastic collection (part of). They all have the wow factor; my favorite is the GMT-C.
