Slightly younger in pitch than pp / Moser/ jlc
Think the design (ro) still looks great rather than 70s retro (nautilus)
Slightly more affordable than many top tier - however still out of my reach unfortunately

One day......

For independents, I like the looks of Graham chronofighters, but not many dealers carry them in the US and I suspect they would be too big for my wrists.

Lots of great brands out there, but when I'm not wearing Rolex I'm wearing UN. I like the divers for their chunkier size--but still a manageable 42-43 mm, excellent double-sided ant-reflective coating to highlight the beautiful dials, and the cool case and bracelet designs. Also have a perpetual GMT for dressy occasions.

Longines Legend Diver, classy looking watch, literally can go from a coral reef to a Tuxedo event without batting an eye,

Sinn U1, the bullet proof (this one is made from Submarine Steel) tool watch, the kind of watch Rolex used to make 50 years ago, before they went all Hollywood on us.

I would say Omega and new (not Rolex clones) tags. However I would love to add a Patek or two down the road

I like what I have, my latest is a Reverso Duo, and JLC has a beautiful range from elegant simplicity to interesting complications, and top quality movements.

Off in an entirely different direction, I'm loving the whole Shinola thing. An emerging American specialty goods maker, their watches can be bold looking, contemporary, youthful. I'm picking up a 41mm Runwell on a leather strap this week.

I no longer own Rolex, sold my GMT and Explorer last year and started wearing Kobold.
-Kobold Artic Diver swiss 45mm much easier to read ,especially in the dark.
-Michael Kobold is trying to bring watch making back to USA...makes his own case.Hopes to have an American movement shortly
-Much more durable that Rolex...I completely wore out my Explorer after 4 years of everyday wear.
-Price point and repair/service cost extremely reasonable. Custom service is absolutely first rate....
I just ordered a second watch, Kobold Langely GMT in Tac configuration with the swiss auto movement, should be here by the end of the month. I'll keep you posted..

Jaeger LeCoultre Reverso

Its so different to my Rolex/Tudors.
Real quality in every respect - style, cases, materials and in-house calibres.
And my one is like 2 watches in one as well. What's not to like?

For me it has to be Cartier. I am not really 100% sure they have always had a place in my heart. I have 3 Rolex and 3 Cartier ready to pull trigger on another Cartier. The design on Cartier always captures me.

I like the uniqueness of some of the Bell and Ross watches but haven't bought one yet because I don't think they keep their value too well.

I love Bremonts too : I have three, of which these are two. I really like how they're different to everything else on the market. Not flash but well made and well designed with huge attention to detail. The 43mm size suits me too.

Just found Pinion and love them as well. See http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=450102

I'm a real sucker for great straps and Bremont and Pinion straps are fantastic.
