Get that Turbo S! You need to consider maintenance costs though

Don’t know the 911 specs, but everyone should own one at some point. Even if for a few months only. They are that good. I say do it!

unfortunately for car enthusiasts, we're entering an era of autonomous, self driving, homogenous, soulless transportation. for me, it's sad to see the end of top down, analog, manual shift cars. my advice, get the fun car while you can.

A few from the collection.

997 GT3RS 4.0 litre
997 GT2RS
992 Dakar

By far Porsche make the best “drivers” car on the market. Can comfortable drive to the track, lap all day and drive home with no issues. The Dakar just goes anywhere, perfect everyday 911.

I'd much rather have a Porsche than a watch.

You can drive a Porsche with a Casio.

Driving a Kia with Rolex doesn't cut it.

Do it, you can get those watches back one by one, whereas the car is tough to get in one shot.

Been there, done this, no regrets. You can always build the watch collection back up slowly. That turbo….

Amazing collection! That 997.2 3RS 4.0 is a Grail! Looking good too without stripes

I’m in big trouble seeing this thread. Don’t know much about Porsche but I see a lot here in Los Angeles. I do have way too many watches. Oh no, Time for some research!

Keep the Daytona and AP, sell the rest towards the 911. Background: have a 992 c2s, an AP Chrono and Daytona on OF. Sold offf all my other pieces and no regrets.

Apart from a few issues with the 996 and some 991.1 gt3’s these cars are pretty much bullet proof. Modern ones with torquey turbo motors will make you forget all about that 2.0L. I came out of a R35 into my 992 and it’s a totally new world.

Having your dream 911 and watches to enjoy will probably make you happier in the long run. Truthfully I have met great people in the Porsche club at our local get togethers and my network has expanded. When you are around other people that share your passion, you tend to enjoy the hobby more. As a side note, you will find that cars and watches tend to be highly correlated and I have had great conversations about watches at car meet ups.

I'm not a car guy, but that is a killer collection. There's not a single car I've ever driven that I absolutely needed to have.

If you really enjoy cars then I feel this is a great trade. 6 watches no 911 or 2 watches and a 911… I’d definitely take the latter.

I had a 996 Turbo. While I enjoyed the car when I had it, I would rather have the watches I have instead of the car.

Ok chime in 911 for Rolex’s

Treat yourself to the Porsche. It’s later than you think!

My 911 is a 991.1 Carerra S w/manual. I love that car and it is perfect for me. I’ll add other cars, but I won’t sell that particular 911. It’s easier for me to replace watches than find the right spec on a car.

Absolutely. I’ve never had a watch as enjoyable as my 911s were.

I like NA cars and mechanical watches. I believe in balance so would lean towards less watches to have at least one fun car. I would +1 a manual. For me, I enjoy a wide variety of watches and cars. None of them get as much seat or wrist time as I would like but it keeps me excited about each when they do

Absolutely. A few watches and a 911 is better than a lot of watches and no 911.
