I need both, but yes somehow I’m more particular about dollars spent on cars than watches. I. Other words I have to think more carefully about every $5k more I want to spend on a car vs. $5k more on a watch(s).

I don't know the guy but I am sure there must be a pretty good reason behind the ban. Mods won't ban some one without a reason.

I'd like to have one of each to start with, than just two watches or two nice cars, and you build on top of those. Just my 2c.

At least with a car you cannot buy too many for reasons of storage... However I am not a car guy-- so I would pick the watch any day

Love both.
I must say a car is more visceral and interactive.
But for me it comes down to cost:
Cars I like are 150k, cars I love are 200-300K, my dream car is 911 Singer (700k).
My dream watch was a Nautilus, 40K. PP it is then :-)

Unfortunately it depends on the car. Many have long waiting lists or huge premiums.

easy one for me. cars are only beaters in my world. i'd love a nice ass car but i would definitely buy more real estate if i were to drop that kind of coin. i sometimes even think i should not be owning the watches i own. so a couple reasons
-i couldn't keep one in top shape living in a metropolitan area with shitty streets
-i'm too broke

I grew up in the 60's - decade of muscle cars - loved them all. In the 80's I started to look for watches - most I couldn't afford. Now I have a 5712 and a Ferrari 360 spider! I can die happy!

I think I personally would spend the big bucks on the car, but watches are nice too!

I’m not understanding the question. Why does it have to be either? Cars yes. Watches yes. I’ve blown more money on cars and watches than I dare to think about. But it’s been worth every penny.

While I don’t own a super car, interest is not there for me. I can be content with a Patek in a jaguar or Range Rover.

I was into cars before I was into watches.. Lost a ton of money on cars.
I still enjoying having a luxury car, however I get more joy from my watches.

Cant throw a car on ur wrist and take it on an international trip. But u can take multiple watches with you and enjoy them everywhere all the time. Hassle free and usually depreciate way less. Buy right and u can even pass it on to the next gen.. it would prob be much easier for ur kid to pawn/sell Dads pateks than Dads car. I choose Patek!

I could easily buy any Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, etc in their current lambo with the money I have on watches. For me, only vintage cars will do now days. Otherwise, I'll stick to my watches.

I'm fine with my 2 current old and midly sporty cars (derivative of Golf GTI called SEAT Leon Cupra R; BMW E92 330i). Not interested in upgrading in the foreseeable future.

Planning on buying my first trinity piece, debating between Patek Calatrava and Vacheron Traditionnelle, white gold.

It would be a car for me, I like fine engineering but there are only so many cogs you can get into a watch case.

Easy. Cars. I can walk into any dealership and buy the car I want. At the price I want to pay. With watches, I can’t even get the models I want. So, what is the point today?

If you are interested in fancy enough cars you can't get the models you want either - no difference between cars and watches here IMO.

Quick question, do you have proof of ownership for US Customs? I was told by a Customs officer once that they look for expensive watches, and even if appear to be well worn you could have purchased used in Europe.
Apparently you can register them...but does that registry system really work?

That would be my teen dream pair, or maybe a 355 as that was the very first Ferrari I was really aware of, think Clarkson got one soon after.

Hmmmm. Let’s make it a bit interesting. If you had to give up a 5711 or a 5167, both steel, to put towards your dream super car, which would it be?
