I dont think the price is outrageous it's just that the environment has changed significantly so 19k now is not the same as 19k 12 months ago. Plus I first need to shift some other stuff before committing to another purchase, which in the current market is not happening at the pace I would have liked :-). But congrats to the lucky buyers!

I agree, price sounds reasonable when considering inflation and how much other brands have raised prices recently. I think I saw some rumours that it might be more like $19-$20k and I think that would have been a stretch for me. Looks like it differed by region but at $17kish If I could have gotten one I would have, congrats again and post lots of pics!

If you are still interested keep trying to refresh. Because of the 7 minute cart reserve, a few are still bouncing around. I looked again about 20 minutes ago (shortly after 10am) and saw another one come and go.

I do like the watch. Maybe if it also wasn't a 6 month pre-order...

There will be more non-special editions released in 42mm in the future. At least that is what I am hoping.

Since this is "Act 1", I'm hoping Act 2 involves a 40mm version. Preferably with a rubber or metal bracelet though - this recycled NATO thing really isn't doing it for me.

Maybe, but that’s what people have been hoping about the 40mm for years, and it hasn’t happened.

I’d bet a Bathyscape, chrono, or other complication.

I would bet an Ocean Commitment is coming at some point this year. Haven’t had one since 2018.

For what it's worth; the bouncing around is real. I just went to pre-order and it popped up for me. I am still on the fence, but likely bow out from impulse buying this piece.

Let's remember that the 50th anniversary came with rubber strap and tools to change straps in a nice package / presentation box. I am thinking that once the watch is shipped, this 70th anniversary will come with rubber strap and changing tools. The details about the box and accessories has not been released yet, and I think it will come with some nice stuff.
For me the 42mm, the first for BP LE anniversary is a big deal, plus the watch looks awesome.

I agree. The last OC LE came with sailcloth, NATO, and the numbered photography book.

21.5mm lugs are the only real negative, and that mainly because of the X-71 fit issue. A bracelet isn’t a deal killer for me, though.

Interestingly, I had the same thing happen to me....my seven minute timer just expired. If the piece is as limited as they claim, there must be a lot of people with last minute/second cold feet. In the end, I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger given I've never actually seen a FF in the metal. Hopefully I won't regret it.

All good; there will be more piece. I just couldn’t do it at this time as I bought some other pieces recently and this one is a bit out of my budget.

I was able to order one about 10 minutes ago. I had nearly given up prior to reading this thread about it popping back up as available.

Glad to hear it! I personally had it in my cart 3 times today (21 minutes), but couldn't do it. I do really like the watch. I just don't want to spend anymore money right now :(
2023 goals.

No, this only means that all unsold pieces for the Americas are still in someone's 7 min reserved cart. But it has been 9 hours since release and there are only 70 pieces for the entire continent so it is inevitable that they will be actually gone soon.

I wonder if they allocated X to each individual country within the Americas (like 10 each) or if theoretically all 70 or the vast majority could end up in the USA.

I think the overall price (watch price+tax) is almost the same everywhere. My order is series l and total cost is $20K

I am worried about the lug width too.
I don’t believe there is any watch in current line-up with the same width.
I would love to have the opportunity to order metal bracelet like the X-71 or other sail cloth straps

When will Blancpain reveal all the details about the box, contents, packaging etc for this 70th anniversary edition?

Where was it being offered? Can someone share a link? I’m sure they’re all gone now but I’m curious and want to check out the page

Thanks. I filled out the interest page and they got back to me this morning offering me one. They said they had glitches with the ordering system yesterday and were happy to offer me one. Makes me wonder if the interest is low or there are more than 70! They gave 24 hours to decide if I want it so going to think about it today. Sure as hell don't need it, but there are aspects I like about it so maybe....

Since you are in communication with them, can you ask them what the watch comes with? Any additional straps and tools etc and presentation box?
Say it will help you to decide whether to buy it or not.
Maybe we can get more info about this release
