While I don't own one, I do love the explorer. I would consider getting one if I were to buy another rolex. I would love to see what they might do with an update like they have recently done with the explorer 2 42mm. It could be sweet.
Beautiful watch though guys. Enjoy every minute of wearing them. |

Just stumbled upon this thread. I guess I should join to enlarge the club members. Got this 214270 a couple of months ago. Loving every second of wearing it. Surely a keeper. Got a vintage 6694 Oyster Date also. Now thinking of Sub C for the future.

New member/1st Rolex
I came to the realization that I had to have one and sold off my other 6 mid priced pieces to fund this one.
Going on my 3rd week on a lightly used Feb/2012. Couldn't be more satisfied. Was deciding between this and the new II |

Explorer I
for the past 45 yrs, i have worn this 36mm without the need for service. i wore it with a jubilee for most of time, for work and after hours.
i recently changed to a nato strap and it feels just right. it keeps very good time. my 1503 yg bracelet model is jealous. i just don't think a nato is a good fit. imo, the original explorer was the eternal design. |

Cant wait to own one. Always loved the look of the Explorer I but have large wrists so am happy that there is now a 39mm option.

My 114270 arrived today. On my way home now to open that box. A gift to myself, 40 next week. Admired them for years.

Beautiful pictures.
Took mine in for service to RSC in Toronto just before the holidays. Can't wait to get it back. |

I bought my first Explorer in Geneva in 1969. I wish I still had it. I replaced it last April at more than ten times the price. I still love it.

At first, i went to the AD to look for a datejust.
But they are 36mm and that's just too small for me. The DJII is better but i didn't like the dials. I saw the Explorer and i was sold. Just the watch i was looking for. I tried it on and looked great from the first time. Just had to have it.... And so i did. Every morning when i wake up, it puts a smile on my face ..... |
