I'm really liking this thread. No matter the background, this is what brings us together as a community. Also I'm quite inspired by those of you who are successful without a college degree.

I personally find this thread very interesting and informative. I highly value education and see it as a way to personally better one's self and circumstances. While post-secondary education is neither necessary nor sufficient for success, I do think it adds incredible value to both individual and society. I think this was one of the better, more unique ideas for a thread in a long while.

It would be interesting in an education forum, but on a watch forum I disagree. I find it both embarrasing and irrelevant.

What I left as assumed in my statement was my interest in members' abilities to parlay education and hard work into the ability to own material possessions that bring them joy - their Rolexes. I also find it interesting to see how different Rolex models appeal to different people with various educational accomplishments.

What do you see that's embarrassing about all of these posts?

Almost 4,800 views on this thread. Some may disagree with your sentiment. Lots of other interesting threads for you to review and add to in this forum. If you don't care for the subject matter in this thread, why not just move along instead of posting such an crass opinion.

This isn't just a forum about Rolex's, it's a community.

It's a good thing for people to be able to see. Anyone viewing this thread can see that it doesn't matter if you went to one of the best college's in the world or if you didn't finish high school. You can still own a nice Rolex collection.

Of the two hundred or so responses you are the only one that thinks it's embarrassing.

How can it be irrelevant when it is comparing college degrees to "your Rolex" ? That's right Rolex's on a Rolex forum. Oh so irrelevant.

However you defend this thread - it won't change my mind about the people who post crap like this. You would never see true watch fans like Jocke or JJ contribute to showboating pretentious crap such as this.

Lighten up...It is a forum and people can post what they like as long as it isn't offensive material- which this isn't.

If you don't like the thread, quit whining and stop reading it. There are many other threads.

Interesting thread. I left comprehensive school in England in the late Eighties (stupidly) wth no qualifications at all but a mountain of self belief and a good work ethic that has kept me in Rolex watches ever since. Never made it to college.
