New old insert on my 1680 RED....

Just received my new vintage faded insert for my RED...

After searching for months to find one I recently came across a seller selling 2 nice inserts so I decided to purchase both.. One(more faded) had a pearl and the other didnt..

These are the pics of the more faded one... Hope you like the results.

I seriously don't get the appeal of faded inserts, a tad worn and that's charm, looking like it sat in the dirt for 300 years and it turns me off.

Other less faded insert.

Here is a few of the other more darker faded insert which I purchased... I will put the patinated pearl from my service insert on this one very soon so it will hopefully look better..

Which do you guys prefer more faded or less fade?

Haha thats a good question Karl I like both of them as it gives the watch different look...

I will know properly which I prefer once the more darker faded one has the pearl on it. For now enjoying the more faded one and will also get a more lighter vintage leather strap perhaps a lighter tan/grey/blueish one???

Try a few straps, but it's a slippery slope! Anything will look good on that watch. The darker insert will look fab with a pearl.

Yeah I am liking both looks also and looking fwd to seeing what both inserts look like on a lighter colour leather vintage strap like tan/grey and possibly a lighter blue/grey leather one which I can use for my GMT 16750 also..

Karl I remember you having a nice blue and tan leather strap??

Cheers! Here are a couple more leather ones; vintage German Flying Jacket, and black with white stitching - also from Germany (can't find a pic of it on the 1680, but it looks good, trust me). That's all my leather NATOs
