Wow, that is stunning. I don't usually picture a daytona on leather, but its actually nicer on leather. I love the Oyster bracelet on the sub but I don't really like the polished midlinks.

Thanks Larry,
fantastic pics! This ceramic bezel has something....the first NEW Daytona which I probably would REALLY like to have, especially in SS with a panda dial! Regards Tom |

I think the new case shape will give the watch a bigger feel...I also am not a fan of the Daytona on a strap....The WG and SS models on bracelets will be interesting when they finally come out. BUt for now...this one can stay of my radar.

Thanks for sharing these, Larry. When I first saw the smaller photo of this, I was non-plussed, but these photos convince me that Rolex has accomplished the impossible by improving on the classic. The etched, black ceramic bezel is a winner! And with a black alligator strap, it compliments the case making this new design a stunner. How long will I have to wait for these to hit ADs?

That is a ceramic bezel isn't it from the specs? I reckon it has a much higher chance of damage unlike the subC with its coined edge on the bezel providing a little protection buffer zone for the ceramic insert.

WAIT A MINUTE!!!
Just spotted a version with an ivory dial WITHOUT the huge "fill every gap" hour numbers!!! WOW what a difference. ttp://www.rolex.com/sites/all/downloads/basel2011/ebrochures/the-new-daytona/en/NEW_COSMOGRAPH_DAYTONA.pdf |

The ivory dial is awesome. The watch looks so much better and a little less busy. I really think the ceramic bezel on stainless steel is going to be amazing.

The ivory dial is kinda cool! I'd love to see what it looks like on a bracelet. Very interesting!

Not my cup of tea - but I may like it in person. Also I like the white dial better. I'm sure it will come out in other flavors that I will like.
Really the only thing that keeps me staying with this new Daytona is that Rolex kept the size at 40mm. I dislike this whole move to larger watches these days. I much prefer 40mm. -Ross
