Need your views !!!
Hi , I am new here . And from India .
I spoke to my AD and he’s willing to let me have a hulk by March OR a Batman by May/June provided I buy two Nomos from him having a combined retail price of $7000 USD and he’s willing to give me a discount of 25 % on the Nomos . Is it a good deal ? Or you think that’s plain arm twisting ? |

Yes,theyre arm twisting you. If your ok with taking the Nomos twist back and wait until they can bundle all three.

So the answer should be obvious.

If you don't want the other watches, just buy gray market for about the same money and get the Hulk right now....

Same here. Finding a buyer for the other watches will be very difficult and you'll lose more money. If they have grey dealers there, I think it will be cheaper for the LVC at least.

Just seems it’s an artificial scarcity created by the ADs . If they can supply me with a hulk in March , they probably don’t have a very long wait list .

Well, if you get a 25% discount on the $7000 MSRP of the two Nomos then you will be into those watches for $5,250. If you were to take both unworn, fully stickered watches and trade them into a dealer you'll probably be able to get ~30% of retail back. Say, $2,250 to keep the math clean. At this point, you're out $3000. Is the grey market price of a Hulk more than $3000 higher than MSRP? If not, then the answer is clear, go grey. If it is, then it really comes down to how you value your time relative to the remaining price gap.

Go grey and be done. ADs adopting these strategies are just feeding the beast.
I have absolutely zero tolerance for AD games. And those are some pretty specific delivery dates...they probably already have the watches in stock and they will miraculously appear once you’ve bought the Nomos watches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe it would simpler to just buy the wife/husband/partner a $25 (whatever that is in Rupees) ring for $3000 and bundle in the watch.
Alternatively, Oris makes a very nice Swiss automatic watch in green for about what that premium is. I don't pay over MSRP, period, for anything. I know it's a relative number, but you have to draw the line somewhere. Otherwise it's just anarchy.

Tell the AD their proposition makes you angry, and that they wouldn't like you when you're angry...
Personally, going gray or this AD game, 16K for a hulk is just crazy to me. |

$16K, $17K, $18K for something people can buy new for half that is nuts to me. If it was a discontinued piece nobody could get anymore I could maybe see the value. |

Absolutely agree with this. Plus your time and energy that it’d take to off load the 2 Nomos. I’d just go Grey at that point and I’m not the biggest fan of paying over MSRP |

I think it’s in a slight dip and will go back up. If discontinued it will absolutely rocket (although nothing is certain) |

Completely agreed. Don’t think it will happen either. Only way I see it going is either stabilizing or rocketing up if it’s discontinued come Basel. |

Absolutely positively the right decision to wait for whatever it is you’re waiting for. The AD obviously can’t sell these watches and is the reason he’s trying to strong arm you into buying 2 of them. So if he can’t sell them what chances do you have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

ABSOLUTELY spot on. When I got my hulk - it had been sitting at my AD for a YEAR. It also came with a nice discount. There is absolutely nothing special about that reference - or any of the GMTs — unless you want a Professional model with the jubilee bracelet. I would love to know how many of those who bought into the hype were underwhelmed - and turned around and unloaded it. same with some of the Pateks etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
