RubberB VS. Everest Watch Strap

I am considering a “Summer Look” for a few of my SS Rolex watches:
Daytona - Non-Cerachrome bezel
Submariner - No date
DSSD - James Cameron

Does anybody have experience with using both Rubber brands Watch Straps on their Rolex and have a preference?

Which is more comfortable?
Which is more durable?
Which is better fitting?

All feedback is very much appreciated!!

Love a rubber strap to give the watch a more sporty look. I prefer Rubber B for the looks of it. To me, it just looks better than an Everest particularly where it attaches to the lugs of the watch. Subtle, but there is a difference. I also have it on a deployant similar the the pic below. Using a deployant makes it much easier to put on/remove from the wrist.

I’ve owned several of both. Quality/comfort is apples and apples.

RB straps tend to mount with strap sticking straight down, this can cause an odd look/fit with 40mm cases if you have a larger/flat wrist like me. Everest has been pure perfection on my GMT.

Conversely I love the RB on my SD43, the mount dynamic is not a problem on the larger case as the lugs are closer to the ends of my wrist.

Cant speak on the tang buckle versions, all of mine have retained the factory clasp.

My 2cents- Everest on your Sub/Daytona. RB on the DSSD.

Everest has better customer service.
Have a problem with RubberB, it’s your fault, no matter what. (Search the forum for stories).

Here is the issue with the Everest strap for the Submariner. If you use the Rolex spring bars, it pushes the strap against the bezel and the bezel won't turn smoothly. If you use the spring bars that come with the strap, the diameter of of the spring bar is too small, so when positioned inside the lug hole there is wiggle room and it will slowly wear the inside of the lug hole.

I re-asked Everest about this last month and am awaiting a reply.

To get the bezel to move smoothly on the Sub with the Everest strap you need to slightly sandpaper down the top /edge bit of the Everest strap that touches the bezel. They've known this for a long, long time.

I'm hesitant to mess with the appearance of the strap. After sandpapering, when you put the strap on the watch, is the part of the strap that was sandpapered visible? If so, what does the sandpapered part look like? What grit sandpaper would you advise using?

My wife wears an orange Rubber B strap on her Submariner--looks spectacular on her petite wrist.

Although both are quite good quality for what they are rubber straps IMHO for what they are overpriced but once today you affiliate anything with Rolex the price quadruples.

i don't see anything after lightly sanding it down. just do a slight bit at the top edges of each strap so it does not put high pressure on the bezel.

jmho and of course ymmv. worked fine for me and is very easy.

Okay. I will give it a go. Do you recall if you had to sand the entire width of the strap, or just the sides, or just the center?

I used a fine grit sandpaper to gently shave off the upper edge of both sides of the strap where it meets the case. Bezel now seems to turn unfettered.

In my experience, they both wear well, but I just find the RubberB has a superior fit and finish. We all have our own opinions of course.

Here’s my 14060 on a Rubber B strap with OEM tuna can clasp. I wanted an OEM Oysterflex look.

I have a 6.75” wrist and the watch head tends to sit off center on my wrist on the Rubber B, pointing away from me. I swapped the clasp for an aftermarket version of a newer style clasp and it fixed the issue of it sitting off center on my wrist.

It does look good. I’m not sure it’s worth $200+ and I don’t know if I would buy it again.

This is my experience as well. The RB turns down at the lugs which looks really good but can sort of pinch your wrist if you have a larger wrist and a smaller watch. With the SD43 it fits me perfectly and looks terrific. But on smaller watches it can be slightly less comfortable.

Everest flares out from the lugs, similar to Rolex OF. So maybe more comfortable for some folks but not nearly as sharp looking IMO.

I don't have it on mine right now but here's a picture from a year or so ago. I'm very happy with it and will be putting it back on for the summer next month.

My buddy with a 16610 wants to get an Everest rubber strap.

Does it fit straight out of the box or, like the 116610, do you have to sandpaper down the strap end so it doesn't interfere with the bezel?
