Yah forgot to mention yes Amex is only card they take over phone as that was an option but I don’t have Amex and either way u still have to be in Mexico to make the purchase with any credit card to get the tax back ! The guy come right to store an does the paper work . Watch was 13,950USD with tax an I got back 1,241.55USD back on my visa . I’m just saying I pre paid for one cause I passed on first one cause of there policy! So I wanted one an wanted to take advantage of saving 8.9% I pre paid for one with my cc while on vacation

No kidding. The OP seems to have a false sense of confidence.

No false sense of confidence here! This is no different than any other purchase with this AD since they don’t ship! I understand the current situation and I hope the largest Tourist Jeweler in the Country doesn’t go bankrupt (very unlikely). Plus I get nice two day vacation every time!

Ultrajewels MX is a legit established AD, I’ve bought from them multiple times over the years while on cruises. Although for me it was in person, with a CC and got tax back eventually, OP will probably be fine.

I had something similar happen OP. Just explain given the current climate you are in no position to have money tied into anything you don’t have your hands on. I would push them to ship or to give the refund. Chances are they can ship the watch...

I purchased an Omega reference Omega 210.32.42.20.06.001. This is my first Omega an AD offered 5% off all Omega/Breitling (pretty normal from what I’ve been told) so I figured why not!

It was made pretty clear that I would NOT be able have this shipped before I made the purchase.... which to this moment I am absolutely fine with! That exact reason I believe is why I even got offered this piece in the first place and to be honest it’s my best chance at getting a Batman from any AD! Plus when all this clears the fiancé and myself get a nice little trip to Mexico.

If you bought with them before, I wouldn't worry. Perhaps you were able to obtain a hot watch because you were willing to do what their other customers in line would not. Me included. Not because it's Mexico but because I'm not willing to spend more money for the honor of spending money. ADs making people bundle is ridiculous to me.

Surprised this comment did not draw any attention... Mexico a 3rd world country? I would probably call you something else than crazy I was less scared roaming Mexico than lots Angeles to be entirely honest.

Enough feeding the troll back to the thread. Call Amex and find out your protection. There is always a risk of businesses going out of businesses especially in this environment. As soon As they are open fly there and pick everything up.

Lol - so you care enough about the watch to presumably call several AD's within an area that you deem close enough to call. Then when one says they can do a transaction for you and you can have this watch you care so much about it, suddenly you are too cool to drive 2.5 hours for this watch hahah

Sorry, that's five hours of my life (maybe longer now). No need to drive if they can ship and I have better things to do with my life than drive 5 hours on the highway that is suddenly getting crowded with people fed up being stuck inside their homes.

Presumably you used hours of your life to gather the contact numbers and search for AD's within a reasonable radius of where you live. Why do that if your time is worth too much to actually travel to the AD's that you searched for, found the contact information for and made an inquiry to?

I doubt Finks lost Rolex- they may have decided not to be a AD for certain locations, but was a decision on their end if correct

Does anyone know exactly how the serial number “look up’s” work such as those on Bobs? Only asking because when I first ran the serial number nothing came up but now it shows so I was wondering if that means the card was activated and the systems somehow link?

Regarding the comments in your OP, there have been opinions expressed by some forum contributors that phantom watches may have been offered. No one has accused any AD of selling watches they don't have. Nor has anyone produced any evidence to support this.
At end of December I paid in full for Oysterflex YG Daytona, Champagne Dial from a reputable AD that I have history with. They didn't have the watch but promised me the next one was mine......still waiting. Not worried.

I would want the watch that bad I would drive and pick it up.
150 miles in parts of Australia is like going down to your local store to grab some milk... I'd not pay for the milk in advance though, so it might be a bit of moot point.

I mean if they had the watch I wanted I ride my bike the 150 miles. No joke. (Somewhere my wife is rolling her eyes)

Thats true, try driving from Perth to Sydney to pick up the watch now the flights are canned. Border restriction is another barrier.
