Heller dear Rolex friends

I know this dial is not a matte dial. But it is a glossy dial that has turned into a matte look and with heavy patina

This 16800 is from 1988 (my watch) is this what you would Call pumpkin patina dial and hands? (See pictures)

And how does that kind of matte look and heavy patina happens?
