Rolex Milgauss Green Glass - HELP!!

Hi there,

I've just recently purchased a Milgauss Green Glass and love it. However, i remember seeing it for around £3,500 a year or two ago and just got it for about £5,000, so as you can imagine it was slightly upsetting!

I'm just curious if it's likely to hold it's value or will be able to generate sell-on in a few years. I know you should buy something because you love it (which i do) and not for investment, but at the same time, i'd just love to know so i don't feel as guilty for parting with 5 grand!

£3,500?? Pre-owned obviously, not brand new from an AD.

I paid £4,100 in July 2009 and it's been increasing in line with all Rolex models ever since.

I do believe they are over £5k now so your'e correct. Although you'll probably get it a little cheaper form a trusted seller from TRF, or on the pre-owned market.

So, all is well. Relax and enjoy a fantastic watch, I love mine!!

Congrats and welcome to the forum!!

It's unlikely that the GV will rise in value but provided you keep it in good condition it should hold most of its value within the first 2-3 years. My guess is that if you want to sell within say, 3 years, you'll should recoup at least 70%.

Fantastic gesture!

But will you succumb to temptation and start wearing it yourself?

Yes there are 2 shades. The older M serials especially has darker green and it seemed to me V-serials have lighter colors when compared side by side. I did the comparison myself and others have done so as well. However, it seems some of the later productions are looker darker again.

Are there photos of two shades of green together? ... Anyone?

That would be great to see!
