What’s the latest on the DeepSea Challenge?

I’ve heard from some ADs that after the initial release, over a year ago, they haven’t received any. But other ADs say they get one here or there. Anyone have new info to share?

I think they’re few and far between but not much demand either. I think a bigger AD would be happy to try getting one for you.

There is a lot of demand from collectors for this model but the supply appears to be a lot more limited than people expected. Not sure if anyone knows the production volumes / how long this will be and for.

It’s very big so no one can wear it, only people looking to put it away for the future and they probably stop making them.

I wear mine all the time. It’s actually quite reasonable for daily wear.

That makes me "no one", which is a good thing.

Fun timepiece. Can't look at it without smiling. We need more fun in the world.

My kids like this Rolex so much they named it, then my wife named it. The ladies always smile when they see my giant watch.

I have worn this at least once a week since acquiring it from my AD in November. It was the first and only Deepsea Challenge they have received.

It's such a rare and special timepiece that Rolex gave it it's own unique box. Rainbow Daytona came in a generic Rolex box, Deepsea Challenge is special, it got its very own box.

Nice! Thanks for the pictures to you and others who posted pics.

Also, thanks all for the good information. It sounds like what my AD said is consistent with what you all are hearing. As soon as Rolex makes more, I can’t wait to get mine!

The war started in 2022 and the titanium watch came in 2023. No way does Rolex release a watch if they had a supply problem which would have been known before the release.

Rolex has not brough this watch or the Titanium Yacht Master to market in any reasonable numbers. While I would like to see both watches, I don't know that I am a buyer but it is bad business to release a watch and not move them into the market in a reasonable timeframe.

Saw one in the window of one of my local ADs last week and it was available. Can't imagine that demand is high

Are you sure it wasn’t an exhibition watch? I’m surprised it was sitting in the case.

That looks awesome. Yeah I want one too, and I also have a DSSD and 43mm SD and glad to hear the Challenge gets more wrist time.

I like it, it's almost an instrument not a watch

Completely agree. I don't think I could pass on this if available/offered.

It’s a helium escape, ring lock notification device.

You can take this as a "he said, she said"/"my AD said" type of thing, but I heard from senior guy I trust from a huge watch group, that Rolex are alternating production of the DSC and the Ti YM each year, as both use the same machining tools in the production process.

Don't know if it's true or not, but there definitely seems to limited production of both models.

+1

My AD received their only one when it was released back in Nov 2022. Nothing since then.

It turned out to be my most worn watch since I got it, which I did not expect!

It's brushed metal (nitrogen-alloyed stainless steel, I believe).
