The first sentence ….”a prediction they run each metal for a year “…should’ve been what you started with in your initial post…THEN it would’ve been easy to understand.

As for your thought process… Who knows

Maybe they will just make a version called the Le Mans with 24 hr counter and then keep the Daytona at 12. Branch off into 2 models in the catalogue.

That's what I was thinking too. If they have a yellow, I'm sure rose will follow. I didn't think about platinum but that would be the ultimate maybe with a blue dial and black ceramic bezel. Someone should render that up to see if it would look nice.

Rolex really pumped the hell out of this reference during a 10 month period. Don't believe anyone who says it's only 100 or rare. For sure anyone who got one from AD, the AD kept at least one for him.

I just feel if they wanted to run it so short, they’d have stopped at WG, so now yellow I think they know they’re onto a great thing, so why not give a yearly run in each metal .. I hope so anyhoo …

I am predicting after the yellow gold they take away the red 100 for a SS model and just make it an exotic dial variation of the SS Daytona like the original Paul Newman was.

If it helps, I got your figurative the first time...
There are some metal release patterns in the YM-II and SkyDiddy. But I'd suggest this myself.

White Gold
Yellow Gold
Rolesor (TT YG)
Rose Gold
Rolesor (TT RG)
Tridor (a real throwback!)
Platinum
Discontinued

No SS methinks...

I think they keep the red 100 so we can argue about its hue, its gloss (or matte), its thickness, etc. over the decades of Mk. I, II, III, etc bezels
