If it wasn't a diluted line, then $8400 could be justified but not anymore. I got my Hesalite Pro in 2018 for $3600 new, cannot justify this new price. I understand the Daytona and Sub comparisons, but Omega diluted their brand while Rolex is moving to prestige. If they kept the sapphire in $6k range, then we could see this in every other person's wrist.
Omega is pushing all the buttons in the past few years, but with the brand umbrella they have under Swatch group, they could have moved Omega to prestige and use other brands for targeting mass market.

This

If a Speedy isn't a 8k watch, then a Daytona isn't more of a 15k watch...

I'm excited to see this release and hoping to make it my first Speedy since Snoopy was never going to happen at MSRP.

What’s the fuss about the price? If it’s going to cost $8.400 in the US with sapphire then it would be only $400 more than the regular sapphire Speedy ($8.000).

People still think it's 2016-2018 when Sapphire Sandwiches could be bought at $3500. Times have changed, market has changed, prices have changed.

I still prefer the panda look of the 2020 Tokyo model, but I do think it's an improvement to go with black hands. Legibility is probably an issue with the Tokyo model.

Legibility on the tokyo is atrocious. White gold hands on a white dial, what could go wrong?

Definitely liking the contrast on the new one much better.

As far those complaining about the price, just buy new from a grey dealer. You can find BNIB 3861s for literally thousands off retail, I expect this one to be no different after the initial hype for a few months.

If the pic posted by Tqmb79 isn't any photoshop, I could be definitely in love with matte black hands... Oh tell me if all of you see what I see? Very hard to confirm in the real shot on Mr Craig's wrist.

That is the pic I for from a Boutique. Hard to tell, even in that pic could be silver hands and just the lighting that makes them appear black? No clue!

I do not think it is limited but imagine demand for this will be through the roof, so expect a wait list. Will be interesting to see when you can walk in a buy in and what these will go for on the secondary market.

Was told it’s expected to have black hands. Cool! Put deposit down for one.

I bought my Speedmaster Hesalite in early 2018 grey for around $3600. Not long after I heard about and saw pictures of the Mitsukoshi and loved it. At that time there were still a few OEM dials and hand sets floating around before Omega cut that tap off. I paid $500 for the dial and hands in sealed original packaging and a local watchmaker charged me $175 for the swap.
I get lots of compliments on it and tell the story behind it. I have never claimed it to one of the original 300 and that doesn't bother me at all. Kudos to Omega for adding a white dial option but I think I like mine better.

On-line fora can be funny. We have a thread three pages long with both praise and criticism for something that hasn't happened

Probably gonna sell my GMT master 2 root beer to fund my purchase of this watch.

Will probably buy it preowned from a grey dealer and save some $.

white gold hands have light reflection which I find much easier to read with than the matte blue hands over the matte blue sub dials of the snoopy-50-III

Spoke with SA yesterday about the white dial Speedmaster.

He said he would have more information in March.

They were not taking deposits but he did ask for my contact information.

Might be they want to steal (again) attention from Watches & Wonders as they did with Moonswatch 2 years ago.

He told me he had no information to provide to me at this time other than the watch is very much so real as he was the one who put it on Daniel Craig's wrist the day of the event in NYC and that it will not be a limited edition/run and will be in full production.

Another SA pulled me aside and asked me for my contact info and advised I would be hearing from him in 2 weeks as he couldn't say anything with his boss there before. So it looks like it with be either released or announced in 2 weeks' time. We'll see.

Omega has just dropped a teaser on instagram, and it doesn't look like a white dial at all..
