Hypothetical scenario 2vs1 watches

Howdy!

If you had the choice would you rather have 1 submariner 114060 or a speedmaster anniversary edition and a pelagos?

In your specific example, I'd opt for the 114060.

If we're allowed to explore alternative options, though, I'd just as well look for a gently pre-owned 14060 and use the leftover money to find a used example of a Speedy professional.

All nice watches but I would choose the single Rolex.

I owned the Pelagos and really liked it but it’s size was not as versatile as the sub.

The speedy is also very nice but it’s lower water resistance Leaves me uncomfortable for an only watch.

But then again, together the pelagos and speedy can do it all.

I don’t think here is a wrong answer here.

The Submariner, hands down.

Not a fan of either the Ty-D-Bol Blue or the Speedy. Submariner on the other hand is beautiful.

Sub.

Whilst I like the speedy I’m not a fan of Tudors.

IMO,
1. Sub
2. Speedy (save $$$, next in line)
3. Pelagos (nah)

My thoughts exactly. Seeing as how this is a totally-unbiased Rolex forum, I'd rather have the 6-digit Submariner.

Submariner no question...

A Speedmaster and BB58 vs 114060 would be harder choice for me..

No Substitution is fair enough to a Sub :-)

Speedy + Tudor every time for me

Although I would probably pick the bb58 instead.

I have suggested this as these subs don’t do an awful lot for me. They are very safe bets and I like character. So I have a few subs but with interesting dials and colours.

That speedy is something else entirely. If you try it on in person.

Ps my safe bet 1 watch is the explorer

If one watch, sub with date then. Can’t tell me you won’t have occasion to use it.

Easy.

Omega + Tudor for me hands down. Personally find the standard Submariner boring. Both the Speedmaster and the Pelagos you list have much more character.

Only thing I would change is I would personally opt for an Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Pulsometer LE and a Tudor North Flag.

Probably not fair for me to answer because i have too many watches but I am becoming more a fan of Tudor these days and I've always loved my Moonwatch. So the two look really good to me but geez, Submariners are soo cool. Difficult...

Actually made a similar decision when I had aspeedy pro and a pelagos. I traded them for a Sub at the time. It was a good trade that I did not regret.

Easy choice, having owned all, and currently own both the blue pelagos and 114060.

Get the sub.

Sub all day every day. That speedmaster has an overly thick clasp that does not match the form of a vintage reissue. The pelagos is a monster but way too thick. My first 114060 I got in a trade for a PO and a Speedy. Was an absolute STEAL.

The answer is always Sub. Unless one of the options is CHNR. Then the answer is always CHNR.
