Bought my first Rolex today!
http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=5053
I went to an AD today to see if they got anything new since last week. They just got in the SS Submariner 16610. I couldn't resist myself and bought it. They wouldn't reduce the price or give me tax off Price after taxes came out to be $4920. They did give me the first overhaul at no charge. The AD have free lifetime buffing and polishing, and extra 2 yr warranty on top of the Rolex warranty. I'm extremely happy with my purchase! Thanks for all the help in this forum! Now, if I can only find the SS Daytona. |

Congrats, wear it in great health and happiness. If you were to choose so, that watch would last several lifetimes.

When I see something I like, I don't waste time getting it. Now I need to do some research of getting a Watch Winder Case. The AD had Underwood, heard from you guys that Orbita, Scatola del Tempo, and Rapport are good ones too? What do you guys think? Thanks

Newrider, do you have any other automatic watches??
I have a couple & with careful rotation, I manage without a winder. Just my opinion. BTW, very nice watch ( I have mine on right now ) I like your title of your post to, You are already "one of us" as your looking towards the next one already To help keep the crystal shiney, you might want to pick up one of those micro fibre eyeglass clothes. They work woners around the cyclops. Wear in good health,

Newrider,
A few things. First off congrats on an excellent watch. In the other thread you got a lot of advice, grey market, tax, discounts. For your first watch I think you did very well. I am glad I bought my first from an AD. I paid too much, but it was my first and at least I did not have to worry about buying it online, or if it was 100% Rolex. You get your first OH free, that is worth something. You get lifetime free polishing, not sure how much you will use it, but it is nice to have. I have the same, but never used it. And you are happy! That is the most important part. If you buy your second, third, fourth Rolex, you can look for better angles. But for your first, to walk out of the AD with your watch and know you can go back to them with ANY questions or issues...., well peace of mind has value too. Congrats, now start dreaming of your next. But IMHO you got one of the best. I will plant the seed that a DJ will complement your sub very well. Dress and sport, a watch for each. Or two watches that can do both! |

I gotta agree with Paulie Walnuts. Only fake Rolex Subs have a flat 'S'. The correct from Geneva should be nice and round.
