Explorer II Polar First Rolex

I was really wanting a GMT II as my first however I was fortunate to be able to take this off my uncle's hand (pun intended). It's still an amazing looking watch and really pops! I've had it for a week and have received multiple compliments on it as well as a trade offer. I do still intend on getting the GMT II, but will need to hold off for now.

It must feel special having a watch with a story behind it. And getting compliments on it already? That's a great sign! The GMT II sounds like a fantastic choice for your next watch. Patience is key when it comes to building a watch collection.

That's one heck of first Rolex. Congrats!! No need to rush into GMTII now that you have that.

Congrats! I love mine and have no desire for a GMT2. This is the perfect lower key travel watch and unique dial in the lineup.

Very nice indeed. Congrats on your great looking Polar Explorer. A classic that has great wrist presence, thus all the compliments. The GMT can come later, just enjoy. Wear it in good health. Cheers!

You’ve got a lovely watch, and GMT function so best of both worlds …

Congratulations...one of the best.

I have BLNR, and nobody notices. My sister thought it was a $200 watch, true story.

On the other hand (no pun intended), I have received more compliments on the Polar EXP2 than any other watch.

I’ve worn my exp II polar for nearly 20 years, still looks as fresh and relevant today as the day I opened the box. My first Rolex too!

I predict you’ll change your mind. I wanted a sub and gmt and ended up with an Exp II which I love - buying either of the others now seems pointless. I’m guessing after a few months, you’ll come up with some new ideas!
