The BEST diver watch

I ‘ve got to agree with Brian.

After 12 years without a service, the amplitude is 270, and it’s running at 0 to +5, which is great for a Seiko. As any Seiko fan knows, the entire SKX line was discontinued a few years ago. Price was $235.30 total, on rubber strap. I added the bracelet. You can still find them new, but at more than double what I paid.

The BEST diver watch

The Tudor Pelagos (standard) gets my vote for best Diver.

Tudor pedigree
Solidly constructed of grade 2 Titanium
When released in 2012, it had an innovative design where the clasp includes tool free set length adjustment points with the last setting being a spring based free adjustment mode
[u]Still has an actual divers extension[u] Aesthetically pleasing design architecture
Economical option. You’re getting a technical diver at less than half the cost of other technical divers (and even standard divers) from other brands.

However it’s not perfect, has known issues with the lume blocks in the bezel falling out.

People have complained about the free adjustment mode hurting them by being too tight. It’s meant to be worn over a dive suit in that setting, not bare skin.

Have to agree as it was the only SS Rolex I had for a time.

AP Ceramic Diver would be right behind it, just not as versatile or as much value for money.

I own four dive watches... One of them is a Submariner.

My Omega Seamaster is my favorite dive watch.

It changes but I slightly prefer this Seamaster over any other diver

All this a a fraction of the cost

This (and its cousins) and the Pelagos easily beat out any current Sub for visibility underwater.

There are several Seamaster watches that perform similarly in that regard but the poll simply says "Seamaster" so it is hard to know what you're voting for!

A year ago I would have said Sub for sure, but after buying a Pelagos it has won me over so much that I plan on buying a second one, but time may change that lol

For actual diving I use blue Pelagos with rubber strap.
Have used SD 43 as well. Just dont want any more metal during dives.

My other dive watches seeing duty: Boshett Cave Dweller, Baume et Mercier Capeland XXL, RedSea Hollystone

I liike my SD, Submariners and SubDates but I am surprised that the bezel markers don’t meet the ISO requirements to be called a diver.

I see that some of the other more upmarket watches pictured so far have the same issue but most of the Seiko watches meet the requirement.

The rotating bezel shall have markers at every minute and a more pronounced marker at five second intervals.

Continuous minute markings and every 5 minutes a clearly legible marker, offset line marking as well as a luminous triangular mark on the bezel (or, depending on the design, can be on the dial) with which the immersion time is marked.

Does anyone actually dive with their Submariners? I see more hard core divers with much better gear. Doxa, etc.

Well dived regular with my 16600 SD well over 600 hour's underwater but mainly used as a backup as dive computers were out. They and gave far more dive related information than a simple time lapse bezel, but myself always carried a backup watch as well. But expect of all the dive type watches sold today 85% of them the only water they will see is a dip in the pool or shower.

That’s a lot of hours! Yes, computers and more functions made these watches more of an accessory than a functional piece of gear.

If it was anything other than the Submariner, I'd be surprised given the forum.

Specifically, I'd go for a 14060M, 16610LV or 114060.
