Would you send money to the seller?
Didn't know where else to go but wanted to ask for everyone's opinion here. The seller is selling a Tudor heritage on another well known forum for a pretty decent price. It's not earth shattering but a decent deal. The seller just signed up for the forum, has no references and his first two posts are of him selling this watch and a seadweller.
I've asked him to send a tagged pic with the watch which he has done, however when it came time for payment time, he says that his PayPal is not active and to use his wife's paypal. I have verified that his wife's PayPal is verified but only recently opened on Sep 21, 2014. I then asked him to send me a payment request from that PayPal email which he has done including details of the watch. Do you think this will be enough to protect me via PayPal buyer protection and would you buy from this person? Apparently he is located in San Jose, California. Thanks for any opinions and advice. |

Don't even bother, this sounds like a scam. It may not be, but really how much can you save on a Tudor Heritage. Just pay the extra few $$ and get one from a "trusted seller"

This isn't like Ebay where you get buyer protection. You are sending money through just Paypal to someone. That is extremely risky. Unless the seller is within reasonable location and you can meet up by paying cash in hand (as well as bringing your army of friends to protect you), don't bother.

As someone mentioned on this thread, just pay the extra $$ and buy from a trusted seller. Just treat the extra $$ as insurance that you're not going to get scammed.

I'd run away. Almost lost a watch to a scammer like this through another forum. Thankfully, I was able to get the shipment re-routed back before it was delivered. I'd buy from a trusted seller. The slightly higher price is well worth the piece of mind.

Yeah... Been feeling the same. Gut is telling me one thing and so far, it hasn't let me down. Just contacted my AD to see how much he can sell me a new one for. Lol. Thanks for the advice and possibly saving me some money!

Any AD will give you a discount on this model anyway. Buy it there.

Sellers on forums need a history of participation at a minimum IMHO, whether it be here or another forum, before I'd ever consider buying from them.

Just bumped into another posting on TZ for a guy selling a 14060. Nothing matches up. Says he's been active on Paneristi, however the only activity is a post with good references, also posted within the last week. Guess it's that time of year!! |

Not all sellers are professionals and have a plethora of posts and use of alternate means of payments. It happens all the time and that may be the only time they use such venue.
You would be protected by Paypal in this case. You can call them to verify. Now to common sense, as mentioned plenty above, you say it is a decent deal but not earth shattering, then keep looking. |

I'm not sure this is eBay. It is another "well known forum"??? If it were eBay and PayPal, maybe. But I agree with everyone else pass and find another one. There are a few on the forum from people with history and references. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
