Bracelet, all day every day. Spending that kind of coin on a watch with a gshock strap just doesn’t make any sense. Plus, if you get it on bracelet you can always change to a non-metal strap if you wish.

Get the bracelet. If you miss the rubber, buy an aftermarket end link and aftermarket rubber strap. You can even find an aftermarket ceramic bezel.

Bracelet without a question. OF looks great and sporty, but the gold bracelet and gold bezel combo is stunning with that black dial.

the previous 116 series Yellow Gold Daytonas used the same Asymmetrical smaller lugs like the SS models did...now all the 126 series have the same symmetrical thicker lugs that the WG/RG/Platinum models had....

I'll always pick bracelet over strap. Plus, I prefer the overall look of the full gold without ceramic bezel on this reference.

Bracelet over OF 99 times out of 100.

A. Looks beter IMO.
B. Way more substantial-feeling.
C. Worth more (if resell value is important).
D. If you're in good enough standing with an AD to get a full gold Daytona, then you may be able to get a factory OF, so you could theoretically have both options available should you want to swap. If not, get a RubberB/Everest/etc rubber strap for the same basic feeling.

Would have to be rubber so I could tolerate the flat / matte dial as a design element. In the shiny bezel shiny PCL config it makes no sense and would bug the sht out of me.

Oysterflex, the stark contrast of the black ceramic bezel and strap just does it for me.

OF for me. I like the ceramic bezel. My OCD nature would worry too much about dinging up the gold bezel and bracelet.

Definitely full bracelet. I don't think the metal rim around the ceramic on the new model is that appealing. Even aside from that, in a collection, i'd rather a full gold daytona and a YM40 OF.

Thoughts on the dial after seeing it in person?

Always amazes me how much larger the ceramic bezel and symmetrical case makes it look.

It really depends on your personal preference! if you like a more classic and luxury look, go for the yellow gold bracelet, if you prefer a sportier and more modern style, the oysterflex bracelet is a great choice.
