Battle of YG Daytona OF 🤜 🤛

Dear friends which do you think is the King of the Yellow Gold Daytona Oysterflex- is it the Pikachu/YML or the Paul Newman? Pls feel free to share your pics if you are a proud owner, thanks!

Unfortunately I don't own either.....but it would be the Paul Newman for me hands down! I've always loved that one. First time I have ever heard the other one called the Pikachu. I learned something new! Lol.

The PN would be my choice but both are very nice.

The Paul Newman: a stainless steel Daytona on a stainless steel bracelet, with a stainless steel bezel and an exotic dial (art-deco indices on sub-dials). But sure: the yellow gold Daytona, on Oysterflex bracelet, with a ceramic bezel and no art-deco indices, practically a carbon copy of the original Paul Newman.

And I don't know Pokemon at all, so maybe Pikachu is a fine name.

I should prefer the one on the right, but I don't.

Both utterly beautiful watches, though.

Pikachu. The Paul Newman's minute track around the dial is not legible in many lighting scenarios. I traded my PN for the Pikachu, except on full bracelet.

Can never go wrong with a PN dial. I love the red details, and not to mention the matte black dial is very sharp against the ceramic and rubber.

The champagne is perfect for the bracelet version

Actually is the Paul Newman a watch or a dial?

Maybe I was too harsh earlier.

We as a community need to come up with a better name than Pikachu lol.

Nonetheless, my vote goes to the left, much more dynamic and interesting dial.

Agreed … if we have to have a nickname, how about … the Golden Panda ?

I too am down to deciding between these two watches (waitlisted 2.5 years now … AND, I got a 126500 in the meantime, that I waitlisted for at the same time) …
though, I guess now it will be the 12 Series (ugh … I like both better in the 11 Series).

To me … as I look at them … one is a “black watch”, and one is a “gold watch” … just depends on what you want.

My choice has been made easy … whichever of those two I am offered first.

For me it’s the Paul Newman. I think it looks uglier in pictures. Pikachu is clear winner in pictures.

I had to do a search on 'Pikachu' to be sure which was which. I prefer the PN by a hair but might change my mind in 5 minutes. Both are ridiculously eye-catching.

I don’t really like the term “pikachu” or whatever weird names the watch has nowadays, but the watch itself is one of my favourite pieces of all time, especially with the black hour markers.

The one on the left is beautiful regardless of its nickname-Paul Newman…John Player Special. Sorry but for me the one on the right is boring.

I think US/UK calls it Pikachu.. Asians call it YML (after a Hong Kong actor who was seen wearing the watch at his wedding)

The polls seems split on this 50/50.. I asked a few dealers and they said Pikachu/YML has a slight edge over PN.. but it also comes with a premium of US 5k

Champagne dial for me. But as an owner of this watch I’m a little biased.
