Chris, excuse me but what exactly does "penmanship" mean? My English vocabulary is not that great I'm afraid.

I really want to participate and thanks for the opportunity to win one of those rugs

Penmanship or handwriting is how well you write; here's a pretty famous person and his penmanship:

Seriously Chris, would you be able to judge this contest as a discrete entity completely detached from previous contests (or will I have to snap a wet towel at you)?

And not be influenced by someone who may have previously won?

Faith do you really think your handwriting looks that good

I don't know, I haven't seen it.........yet to know

People can be quite conscious about their handwriting, mine looks quite unsophisticated, but people have commented that it is very readable, so I guess that's a plus

I love contests, they are fun to enter. One of the first threads I posted on this subforum was requesting people post writing samples, but Steve, you didn't post one. How can we judge the quality of your writing if you don't provide a sample?

Oh don't worry I'll post a sample in this one.

The flip side of having an unsophisticated writing style is that people think you are a lot younger well perhaps in my case that isn't so good (juvenile like)

Now that we resolved this, would you please go to my thread and post your eye color and with which paw you grab your MBs?

My Entry . . .

Here you have it (or more appropriately, here, have at it)! I may switch this out for another entry since I used this in my thread. (Written with MontBlanc RB)

I disagree, my dear Ian. Your writing is very striking and distinctive, certainly reminiscient of early times. You are a very deserving candidate!
(Love that color ink!)

I must admit Faith I have always loved that style of writing but I still say yours is a shoe in, it really is lovely penmanship (penwomanship!)! I must admit the ink colour is not representative as I sepia toned the image to give it an olde worlde feel, it is actually Bordeax from Mont blanc!

Hi Zsazsa,

I, too, do not have a good camera. I wrote my sample, scanned it on my printer then uploaded it to this site. Faith

You did very well! I attended neither Catholic school nor do I teach in a traditional sense. Glad you have joined us and good luck with your entry.
