A tale of a sunken SUB. Farewell TRF its been a blast
Unhappy to report that my beloved 14060m slid off my wrist into the deep abyss after a nasty wakeboard wipeout. I was on a buddys wakeboard boat that threw a wake that was beyond my skill level and i reverse faceplanted and then the unthinkable happened. I have a general idea where it might be of about a 40 ft area around the tiny stump that you see in the merky water but its a long shot from hell. The sun was going down and so I was only able to dive for about 20 minutes with no success. My neighbor is a comercial diver and he is going out with me in the morning for a final search and rescue mission with some dive tanks. Maybe a once in a life time miracle will happen. The water only has about a 3 inch visibility so im sure its lost forever. I had no insurance on it so im SOL on that option. This will probably be my final post because i have no plans to ever even buy another watch again because this one just to perfect. I can tell you what watch i will be wearing saturday because it will be no watch at all. with that being said i bid you all adieu.

Good luck, man. I really hope that you're able to recover your watch. Don't leave just yet. At the very least, let us know how things go tomorrow.

Sorry about your loss.
I know you're feeling down, as I certainly would be, but try to remain positive. I hope you will stick around.

Don't go man, I have a feeling you will find it and you'll have a hell of a story to tell people about that watch. If you end up finding it, don't ever sell her because it was just meant to be! Good luck and I know you'll find it!!

You will find it tomorrow with the proper dive help. It can't go anywhere...and you will have a story to tell your grandchildren.
Along with dive help, try this: Sand Shark Underwater Metal Detector by Treasure Hunter. About $250 You grid out an area and you methodically search it zone by zone. It will come at a cost, but you will find it...as long as you generally know where it is. Not to worry. Sleep well and get an early start. |

I think it would be worth renting (or even buying) an underwater metal detector...

You've got to invite a few friends and take a metal detector with you. I'm hoping for the best.

Terrible news :( I still prefer to believe you'll be able to find it somehow. Are there any waterproof metal scanners? And if it's inevitably lost, don't give up: start saving up for a nice preloved 14060M, and make sure to stick to TRF

That sucks balls, but I think you'll find it. It's shiny, and it can't swim or walk away. Form a GTG of TRF members who dive and have a search party.
In any event, you don't need to have a Rolex on your wrist to be a member of this community. Stick around! By the way, I lost my wedding ring while snorkeling in Hawaii the day after my wedding. I was with my brand new wfe, and I didn't want her to know, so I panicked and went down to the bottom immediately...and there it was, gleaming in the light, sitting in the sand at the bottom of Hanauma Bay. I grabbed it and put it back on my finger and resurfaced as if nothing had happened. So...there's hope! (and all the while I was wearing my 14060) |

Best of luck! I know exactly how you feel - between my beloved Brass Rat (MIT class ring) and my PRecious (blue linen date bought in 1974, lost in 2010 ...)
Just pray. My Brass Rat disappeared one year in November and was found the following May. |

They make underwater metal detectors. Have your diver friend use one and I know you will find it!
