Hi everybody
Heya folks,
Been a lurker here for quite some time, I've never really had anything worthwhile to contribute before because I hadn't acquired my first Rolex yet. I still don't have anything worthwhile contributing *LOL* but over the last 18 months doing my lurking I thought I should share whatever experiences I have in hunting down the Rolex I like with the rest of the forum. It may hit a chord with some other members or simply help those that might be passing through the same places where I've travelled to look for the pieces I fancy. I'm currently residing in Brunei, but I fly out from time to time and I try and look for nice old things to bring home. Watches were something that I had a minor interest in until I left a job that I had been in for quite some time and decided a time piece would be a good keepsake to remind me of those ups and downs. I had always admired Rolex but my appreciation only began after discovering certain stories within my family that really triggered the passion for Rolex. Stories like how my great grandfather passed what is now a vintage Rolex to my father before he started a family, and also how my late grandmother bought my late grandfather one so he could have something nice (he was a pragmatic man and felt whatever told the time accurately was enough!). I thought that I should do the same and get one for myself and members of my family, start something like heirloom thing going. So, nothing special to see or hear from me. Just opinions expressed, stories shared and maybe jokes to be thrown in from time to time. |
