A heads up for some. Have a friend in a field thats deals with ipr violations. He constantly sends me things like below.

A daydate with mixed paperwork, sold with a submariner warranty card and old paperwork.

Save $5k or more and get a 18238 prior to the solid links. You can get a great gold watch for less than a lot of the stainless models. I did this (1990 model with saphire crystal), sent to rsc, got a new dial, hands, and a full service and looks like new. All in I'm out about 10-15k less than a new 36 dd. Oh, and it runs better than cosc specs at this point.

I picked up my 36mm DD from DavidSW last month after doing a lot of research and opting for this size over the 40mm. I absolutely love it and it is so comfortable on my 6.75" wrist. I used to be scared the watch would look too small but it is perfectly sized IMO.

In case someone was thinking I thought it was a Tridor. It definitely isn't. It's a really bad fake.

I'm wondering if anyone prefers the Tridor over a YG president?

Hence if you actually read my first post “ i have a friend that deals with IPR violations”... short for intellectual property rights aka fake crap violations for members. I know this is fake. My friend seizes fake stuff like this all day long as part of a job. I was putting it out there for you guys to show the fake cards that there using as well.

Not me ... though I’ve been tempted to add one. One problem for me is that IRL they just look two tone. (I’m still psychologically scarred from all the hideous 80s chrome/brass.) The stripes between the YG and RG are pretty faint in the flesh - seller photos often have the color contrast cranked up to 11. They were available for many years but are still pretty uncommon, presumably because IIRC they commanded quite a large MSRP premium over regular 18K.

You can get a DD40 from mid 2018 with box and papers from a TS for 10K less than MSRP. Someone else has taken the hit so you don’t have to.

You get the stretch resistant solid gold links and warranty etc. Unlikely to devalue a whole lot more. Best Buy IMHO.

There is one in the Classifieds on the forum. I like it but I can't see wearing it in favor of my YG one.

No.

But I’d buy one anyway.

I’m looking one too. Never put the 36mm on wrist and worry about the size too. And really don’t know what year or reference number should I go with.

I've bought two used Rolex in the last year. Both were private one owner pieces with box and papers, unpolished and unserviced in mint and near mint condition. One was on C/24.

Have a WG wedding band. Anyone have pics of YG DD and WG wedding band? Want a YG DD, but don’t want to clash. Band obviously wins.

Buy from a gray. I got a 11/2019 dated dd40 with white face Roman numerals full set for just over 30k. Saved thousands under retail. The best way to buy these are Gray in my opinion. I saved around 8,000 almost. I could of bought a datejust with the savings
