Fredrique Constant 710MC4H6
I would love to get everyone's opinion on this watch. I picked it up super cheap through a JomaDeals 24 hour promotion (about $1200).
There is a lot to like about it. Breguet hands, sunburst date dial, guilloche dial around the hands, in-house movement, etc. I've thought about a leather strapped watch for awhile, but I don't want to pay a big number since I feel like if I'm going to drop "big" money on a watch, I want it to have a bracelet. Here are my concerns: - Would I wear it enough to justify the price (after all, with two Rolexes, it's hard to take them off my wrist at all)? - Should I return it and just add that money to the watch fund for a future watch? I love the design of it, but I feel like it kind of lacks "charm;" maybe because it looks almost like a blatant rip-off of a Breguet watch. Has anyone else experienced anything like this when getting a watch? And, what are your general opinions of this watch? I've always been of the philosophy of quality over quantity. Here is an article that describes the watch even more in-depth: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/frederiq...-watch-review/ Appreciate the feedback, fellow WIS community! |

FYI, my other two watches are a white dial Daytona, and a SS DJII with fluted bezel, and gray romans; however, I am considering flipping it for a SS GMT II C.

Even though I like it I cannot ignore the fact that that I feel that it still is an 'almost' watch, it is ok, but still it is not the real deal...

I'm not a fan of textured dials, but she's a beauty that will suffice as a dress watch.

I love that watch!! I have been looking into FC for a while as I really like their world timer- nice details on the dials, in house movements for the most part, display backs and decent prices. The only downside I have heard is that the leather straps are not of good quality but I guess they have to compromise somewhere. FC is good value for the money, in my humble opinion.

Thank you for the feedback, guys. I posted the same question on the Rolex board, and I am going to send this one back. What I really want is a Breguet Marine watch, and this really wont scratch the itch.
So she is being sent back. |

I like that watch and I also believe that there is room in anyone's collection for some mid-range watches and even low-end watches, if you like them.
My only problem with FC is that they tend to be a lot bigger than I prefer for dress watches. Otherwise, I would have bought one for my trip to Las Vegas next month. Instead I bought a vintage Tissot that was clean, cheap, just serviced and 36mm wide, which is my preference.
