You probably don't remember this...but....

About 500 million years ago, the Earth's magnetic field collapsed....

My memory is hazy on this but here's some info...

I remember that. I caught a pretty bad sunburn from the solar wind.

If memory serves, this was a disastrous period for the Rolex Milgauss as well.

Sales tanked for about 26 million years.

About 90 minutes ago alarm bells went off -

NOAA issued a "Severe Geomagnetic Storm Watch" due to very high solar activity with background flux at or near M1.0. Region 3664 and has continued to exhibit growth.

The largest flare is an Earth-directed coronal mass ejection (CME) with arrival projected to arrive on May 11th. Another halo CME, is undergoing modeling to determine its impact and timeframe.

So maybe you'll need that Milgauss soon.

(Said like an absent-minded old man as i begin shaking my first in the air) You young lying dog-face whipper-snapper pony soldier have no idea how it was a billion or two years ago. Besides the Ice Age, can you believe the recent massive global warming (on a GLOBAL SCALE!!!) that allowed flies and wasps and mosquitos who carry diseases that kills many humans... and this happened only very very VERY recently ~11,000 years ago (the Earth is ~4,543,000,000 years old).

So 11,000 years ago massive-scale global warming is indeed killing humans today. There's still time to go back to the Ice Age when everything was far safer, less disease, and life seemed to move slower... and the skiing was epic all year around

That is frustrating. But the corresponding sea level rise made my inland sheep shack a beach house.

The last time it happened my watch became magnetized, but then it reversed itself once again and it became unmagnetized, thankfully Rolex’s runner a really long time.
