LV Question

Ok so i'm pretty up to speed on all the acronyms...

DD, DJ, WG, SS, TT, YM, etc etc.

But what is LV? I know that it refers to the 50th anniversary, and if I'm not mistaken L is the Roman Numeral for 50, but the V...?

LV stands for LUNETTE VERTE, which is French for "Green Bezel". Rolex uses French since it is based in French speaking Geneva, Switz

Some thought it was for Limited Version or Roman Numerals. That's not the case.

BTW....credit for that answer goes to someone from another forum. I'm not that smart.

You got it.

BTW, I always thought LV stood for Louis Vuitton because it's Swiss French (and ugly to boot).
