Airbnb - I HATE HOTELS. can’t sleep, always too loud and I don’t like being around so many people.

Hotels. As a retired airline pilot, I'm used to them.

Hotel aways. I like the amenities and perks. I also have elite status across multiple hotel groups from years of business travel.

Hotel most of the time, unless we are somewhere like truckee or Tahoe, then it’s airbnb.

When we travel with four young kids, finding a hotel with adjoining rooms can be tricky. I always want a hotel, but sometimes Airbnb is just easier for us.

We alternate depending on what’s available where we’re looking. Although I’ve had a couple off odd Airbnb experiences that make me err to the side of hotels

IMO the prices at Airbnb are outrageous for the very little you get. With AirBnB, from the moment you retrieve the keys from a plastic combination lockbox, you know you’re receiving a low quality service

I agree the value proposition is poor with these private rentals. That's why me and family are 100% on the hotel camp. Checked out a few VRBO and Airbnb places for our vacation this summer and were floored by the fees. It feels like bait and switch.

Additionally, the odd stipulations from some of these rental places are bizarre. I am not going to pay the exorbitant price to stay at your place only having to squeegee your shower door after every use or be on garbage duty prior to leaving. Want to charge like a hotel? Operate like one.

For lesser price I can easily find rooms at My Place or Staybridge Suites that offer space and amenities comparable to a small apartment and be treated like a guest.

We like to stay somewhere safe, clean with services and amenities. Not some strangers house

We've been really happy with MVC. The Hawaii properties are great but it's a long haul from the midwest. We've also enjoyed places in the Caribbean and Florida quite a bit over the years. I remember when we bought in we knew it was a loser from an equity standpoint, and it's definitely even worse now. But accounting for how much we use it and what it would have cost to substitute with hotel stays for 4 people, even with a value of zero on the timeshare it will have been worth it after 10-15 years, getting much more favorable after that. Doesn't make sense if you only vacation a few weeks a year, but works for us and our lifestyle.

When you need cribs in separate rooms its airbnb/vrbo. Usually 3/4 + bedrooms which in a hotel = the presidential suite or something extremely costly.

I'm sure when they are older we will be in the Hotel again. When its just us its ALWAYS a hotel fwiw.

Hotel always. I really don’t get the whole airbnb thing.
