X-33: help with setting time, cleaning needed?
I have an X-33 that was part of a military group buy with special engraving that has sentimental meaning.
I believe the proper way of setting time was to set the digital time, then the analog hands would sync. While setting the digital time is easy, the analog hands aren’t syncing properly. Any hints or suggestions? Has anyone here used LAWW for quartz watches? I live in Pasadena area and am less than 10 miles away, but wanted to troubleshoot for easy things myself. Thanks! |

Thanks for the help, that’s what I’ve been trying. Unfortunately, I still can’t get the M or H hands to sync or even move using P2/P3. S hand syncs as described. Attempting to set M and H using P2/P3 I can hear a faint audible click, but he hands remain motionless.

Yes, battery’s ok...second hand ticks at 1-second intervals.

That looks like a Hirsch curved end strap. Several styles and colors available. Recommended!

wait so let me get this straight, the hour and minute doesn't move when you try to do a manual sync? And they failed to move in regular time keeping as well?
I usually would try to remove the battery, wait maybe 5 to 10 min, then reinsert the battery again. Or try another brand new battery. But the 1666 movement does have a low battery indicator (which the 2nd hand jump every 5 sec). So I kinda doubt its the battery itself. just to give you an idea, Omega will replace the movement for $500, and I think it would be the latest 1666C SQ movement.

I have read on other forums that Omega is not big on servicing and elects to replace the movement with a less desirable one. I was hoping that a simple clean and lube job would do the trick, but have to admit it is simple wishful thinking. |

I have used the Omega service center in Seattle and recommend that you try it.

Correct that Omega would not work on the movement, they will simply replace it. But the upside would be you get the latest greatest 1666c super quartz movement and a warranty :)
Its gonna cost ya though :( Quote:
