Well it was a pretty great Friday. Then I hurt a trusted friend.

I don’t know what happened. I looked down and was talking to my better half about what time to feed the dog because we were going out to dinner. My watch said it was 4:15. Meanwhile it was not 4:15 it was 5:20.

I tried to wind it and it didn’t do anything. So I shook it. It started sweeping again so I figured I’d see how long it lasted. Died about 5 mins later in the shower.

She’s in the safe now and I’m researching independents close to me.

I think I’m going to go with Rik Dietel. Anyone have any other recommendations for a great independent in the Tampa Bay Area?

Thanks in advance!!

It feels funny without a watch and I already miss it quite a bit. Any one want to loan me their sub till mine is back!?

Don't you want to give it a full wind and see if there's really a problem? Could have just run out of juice (technical term).

As I said in my original post. It wouldn’t wind. Also, I’m a very active person and I wear my watch 24/7. I’ve never had to wind it since owning. But I still tried.

Awww man, bummer. I got an orange G-Shock and... I think, ya know, maybe something else to slide to ya in the meantime if you're serious. It'd have to be on strap tho.

I mean part of me was serious but the realistic part of me would never take anyone else’s watch because I know what I’d succumb it to.

Thanks for the offer though my man. I guess I’m just gonna have to either buy the 16618 I want or pick up an invicta to beat the hell out of for a couple months.

Yep, my watch is with me 24/7. It has been a trusted companion through all of my journeys in the last 2.5 yrs. It now is not working due to my use. It’s not a friend in the human sense but it is a friend in the it’s always by my side no matter what and trusted to do it’s part while there sense.

Haha, I was not late feeding the dog. He doesn’t eat till 6.

I also didn’t feed him this evening. Only offense he had was he knew we were going out and breaking normal routine by feeding him 20 mins early. So he only ate half his dinner. When we came back he ate the rest because apparently his protest was over.

Apple Watch for you.

And get FitBark for Fido - you can keep track of his most important health routines: sleep patterns, exercise levels, and more.

Rik can get you sorted, International Mall Apple Store for you!

Really convenient to see weather, my stocks drop, my activity, use my watch to charge my credit card, etc. Sorry to endorse the anti-Rolex.

The reco was to help Fido - the AW just helps his FitBark work…

Seriously, i got a first-release ETA movement B&R 03-92 and various straps you can beat the crap out of. Have to admit, have put that timepiece through hell n back (kiteboarding, Formula car racing for two seasons, etc) and it just refuses to quit.

Seriously, lemme know.

Great, thanks for the recommendation. Did you drop it off or ship it to him? I am about an hour from his shop so figured I’d just drop mine off if it’s allowed.

Lol, it’s been like 15 hrs without it on my wrist and I’ve already been lurking on my greys website to see what he’s got that might alleviate my temporary loss.

Thanks for the recommendation. I’ve heard nothing but great things about him. It’s have to be pretty dire straits for me to go to the Apple store, let alone buy one of their watches.

Lol, you’re killing me Steven!!

Seriously, I’m not the kind of guy that can borrow someone else’s stuff easily. I’m anxious about every little thing when an item is someone else’s. Thank you so much for the generous offer though!!

A couple of great options recommended there as well. I’ve never owned a Panerai or really given them much thought. However a 70 yr warranty sounds pretty enticing.
