As an aside, I hope this attack doesn't have the effect it had on the Spanish. I can't think that it would. The Brits I have met were tough as nails and defiant in the face of adversity.

As an amatuer military advisor I think to answer the bombings, England should double or triple her personnel on the ground in both Iraq and Afghanistan! Show them that they will not dictate how Brittania conducts herself abroad!

The last few days I've been using the DC Metro because I'm taking a course at Microsoft up in Maryland. This morning everyone was eyeing everyone else's bags suspiciously. It would be so easy for acts like those in London to take place here.

Did you notice more police at the stations, Peter? Yesterday there were two motorcyle cops and a squad car at Grosvenor station in the morning. Today there was only the squad car sitting there. I didn't see any cops on the trains, though.
