New Watch IP ;) SS Date Sub Serti 90 Model :)
Just picked up a sweet second hand 1990 Model SS Sub with Serti Dial....
Picks to come when she arrives in my hot little hands. Love the Saphires and Diamonds.... Saphire is my birthstone. As they say..... Rolex is a mans diamond :) The 18K SUB will have to wait a few quarters ;) Jeff |

SS Sub
Newbie so I don't know all the lingo for subs..... it's a second hand Stainless Sub with Silver Dial with Saphires/Diamonds - not original.... but I like the looks of it. More to come.

What comes as a complete surprise to us is that we've never seen or heard of an SS Sub with Serti dial. These dials come with the mainly TT models. Obviously yours is an aftermath affair. The pics should be interesting. JJ

Jeff, I hate to point out the obvious and be the bearer of bad news, but a SS Serti Sub could be one of two things:
1) an aftermarket job (which will cause no end of trouble if you are subject to the tender mercies of US RSCs*), or 2) not a Rolex at all *Rolex Service Centres - apparently they do not accept anything other than factory original layouts when servicing Rolexes

Let's hope it all works out...
Let us know the details when it arrives.
Until then, don't worry. President Rolex |

Yes agree with James must be a aftermarket dial,in the UK they are a bit more flexible with different dials, but the US is a law too themselves.

Guys, guys, guys, he stated that the dial is not original, which probably means he knows that its a aftermarket job. Give our new friend a break and the benefit of the doubt :) we are not like some other boards that jump to conclusions

sub
Dial is aftermarket. It's also coming with the orig parts too.
This is THE sub I've always wanted...... serti silver dial with saphires and diamonds. It was priced accordingly believe me This will be my knock-around watch and for jetskiing etc... Sea Dweller will get relegated to "light duty" More To Come. |

I'll have the orig dial also.
I love the color combo... it's exactly what I wanted in the first place but Rollie doesn't make such a beast. Next on the list: 18K SUB :) |

That's Great!
Are you considering a Gold Sub?
I was thinking about one with a blue dial. PR |

Yep
Yes... it looks much like that photo.... but of course it's silver or WG features on the dial instead of YG.
How hard is it for the layman (AKA - ME!) to change the bezel insert? This will be my daily wear knock-around rollie.... and I'd like to experiment with different bezel inserts..... blue, black, maybe even red...... the inserts are pretty cheap on the aftermarket. I might even go nuts and put a diamond studded bezel insert when I want to look like a rapper. Jeff |
