I’m having some problems with the setup. If I’m using Authy why is the setup screen asking for a Google Authentication code?

You can use that Authy code its just as good.
In set up if you scan the QR CODE it sets up the account straight away.

I've added the 2FA. Feel better. I was hacked once and someone attempted recently. Thanks for this solution.

The authentication number you receive from Google Authenticator or Authy is only good for 30 seconds. I think both apps have a countdown feature. Wait until a new number is assigned, then enter it into the TRF page.

Tried this countless times. Nothing works. Keep getting invalid authorization code.

Still getting invalid authorization code. I'm putting the code in fast enough. TRF page on my laptop or phone? Can it be my antivirus or screening else not allowing it to go through?

I'd been having problems and in the end, I deleted all the accounts I had and started from fresh. I downloaded the Google Authenticator to my phone. Went to the Forum page that opens when you ask to setup Two Factor Authorisation. On my phone, open the app, hit the "+" sign. Hit the "Scan QR Code" go to the forum page with the QR code. Once you have scanned the code a number is generated, enter that number into the code box, I think it was without spaces. The hit the input button.

I struggled with Authy but that was possible my stupidity.

That is the quickest way to do it.

Your cell phone must know the correct time for Google Authenticator to work.

This is usually the problem:

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Yours device needs to have the correct time for 2FA to authenticate.

I had a recent issue with 2FA in which the use of 2FA (demanded by banks in Canada) resulted in having $27,000 stolen from my account through forced cellphone number porting.

In this forced porting, a person pretends to be you and requests that your cell phone provider ports your number to a new provider. Once they do this, then the fake you is able to put the new sim card (with your cell phone number) into a burner phone and then access your bank accounts (or anything using 2FA) by use of the 'forgot password' function which defaults to sending you a 2FA code to your phone number (which the fake you now has). Using this code, the scammer is able to access all of your bank accounts and move money or buy things using your online accounts.

Fortunately, I was able to secure the breach quickly enough and lock down the number (which, working as quickly as I could, took 28 hours). The banks were amenable and held processing transactions, but not before $27k had gone missing. It took several months to get all of the money back.

I’m having trouble logging in from my browser. Have just downloaded authy and it’s asking for a QR code but I don’t know where to scan it from.

Currently logged in from Tapatalk

Any help would be appreciated

You will have to jump out of Tapatalk to do this.
You scan the QR code from your "user cp" and scroll down and the bottom item in the list of options on the left hand side will be to enable/disable 2FA.

Click on that and then 'enable' and a QR code will appear. Scan that into your device.
