My first Rolex - An Explorer II (16570)

Hi All

Sharing some photos of my first Rolex, a 16-year old Explorer II, which I gotten 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with the purchase. My only regret is I should have gotten this long ago.

Very nice. This, along with the polar version, are my favorite Explorer IIs. So much better looking than subsequent models.

Congrats, the 16570 is one of the most comfortable and under the radar Rolex watches, with very useful complications.

Congratulations, at least you have it now. I’m still looking and thinking I should have done this 10 years ago to get that much more enjoyment

My watch also.

I got mine last spring when low interest rates on my cash sent me out to get the SS Sub I've wanted for 30 plus years.

After a rude awakening at the AD and some quality inputs from this forum a made an offer on a 16570 Black in their display case.

Perfect match to my lifestyle. Unlikely I'll ever buy the Sub

While the explorer 16750 is a fantastic watch it’s no substitute for a sub, IMO

I'm on the AD waitlist for the new black dial (2021 model). While I can carry that maxicase on my wrist, I still prefer the older classic size (this model).

REALLY REALLY wish Rolex would make the next variation of ExpII into a 41mm case (use same case as new sub with shortened lugs).

I have this exact watch, and it's my favorite by far. Disappears on the wrist, under the radar, and is the coolest of all my watches. I would never sell it.
