"Smashed by car"

I found this "smashed by car" Submariner on eBay and could not resist posting it here. They even tried sending it in for service, bless 'em.

Springbar failure with hand out the window on the freeway. Or get caught cheating.

More like someone left this in their car before it went through a metal shredder and someone found it afterwards. There's no way running over it would produce this...unless they ran over it 1000 times.

Brings new meaning to the term 'roadkill'.

Leave on roof and forget to grab it before you drive away.

There's another thread from about a year ago in here about a similar mishap. However, the watch that was damaged in that one did not belong to the person who broke it. He was borrowing it for a photoshoot or something. He did buy it after the damage though in that case.

Slightly worn, just removed stickers. Nice patina with light desk diving marks.

Don't know about you, but I think there will definitely be gaps on the end links when they re-assemble that.

Have you watched the video? It's still ticking.......honest!

I ran over a Seiko diver with my car once many years ago. I’d taken the engine out and was pushing the vehicle (VW Scirocco) back out into the drive, forgetting I’d taken the watch off and left it (stupidly) on the garage floor. Car went straight over it. Apart from a few scratches it was fine...and I continued wearing it for years and years after that without even a service and it ran fine....still does in fact.
Tough as nails those Seiko divers but this Rolex looks like it’s was run over by a JCB!
