Incoming - haven’t been this excited for a watch in ages

Never posted an incoming thread before, but this is one I’m extremely excited about. It’s also the most expensive watch (retail) I’ve ever purchased.

Months ago I was in my local Omega boutique and tried on the Canopus and Moonshine Speedmasters. Ever since then the Canopus Speedy hasn’t left my mind. I absolutely loved it. However, at a retail price of $54k there was no way I was going to buy it. It’s a stunning watch on so many levels but Omega was smoking something asking that much for it. Luckily, the secondhand price point makes a hell of a lot more sense.

I’ve spent several months hunting one down on the secondhand market. The struggle has been finding a LNIB 2023 version. I was adamant in having the 2023 model as it has the updated clasp with micro adjustments.

Well I stumbled across exactly what I was looking for with an Omega AD and we negotiated a price I felt was fair. Now I have to be patient for the next 24 hours until it arrives tomorrow. I’ll post pics of the actual watch once it arrives. Until then, here’s a hijacked photo from the web of what’s coming.

Love that watch!

it has an on the fly no tool micro adjust? Do all 2023 and newer speedy models have that now? About time if so all bracelets should have above a certain pricepoint.

Right?! No idea if it’s an update for other Speedmasters. Actually didn’t know it was an update for Canopus. I discovered it from pics while searching for one to buy. Earlier versions have the small spring bar adjustments. Noticed a 2023 listing from last fall that didn’t and then noticed the micro adjustment in the clasp on a follow up photo. Deduced that there had been a quiet, but HUGE, upgrade in 2023.

Here’s pic of pre 2023 clasp

And then a 2023 model with micro adjustments

It’s not a slider. It just lifts up over a bar. I’d estimate 1.5-2mm more. So just like the one micro you reference from earlier versions it’s kinda the same thing but with a button. It’s def better as no tool but don’t expect a ton of adjustability

Thank you all!

It landed today. Love how comfortable the bracelet is. Definitely an under the radar PM piece, which I love. Not very blingy. Exactly what I was hoping for.

I’ll report back after some time with it.

Thanks Fred! The moonshine on rubber is incredible. Tried that one on too. Unfortunately yellow/rose gold doesn’t go well with my Irish skin tone. Even the more muted moonshine yellow gold.

You are correct. Guess it should be referred to as easy adjustment vs micro adjustments.
