Actually funny

Most of the iPhone users where always commenting that my Samsung Note 3 was so big . . . . and now years later . . . they can buy the same big phone

Woooow Apple . . . you where the last one to offer a 5+ inch screen . . .

And probably because customers where moving to the S5 and under brands, the pressure became to high for Mr Ive and Co

Played around with the iphone 6. Man, what a big disappointment. The design is terrible. Looks like all the POS android phones. The back of the phone is just horrid. I don't know how they could go from the 4/4S & 5/5S to this ugly design. Steve Jobs would likely have slapped the sh*t out of whoever approved this junk. At least Apple should have kept the 5S design and maybe widened the phone by about 5mm and reduce the side bezels to accommodate a wider display, but keep the same height. 4.7 & 5.5 screens? Absolutely ridiculous.

I love it as well. Could never carry around the 6plus but the 6 is money. Not sure what's wrong with the design. Very sleek.

I am waiting for the Samsung Note 4 . . .

Better than the iPhone 6 ?
Don't know but the screen of the Note 4 is 550 ppi . . . . iPhone 6 plus 401 ppi
So with their new iPhone they are already way behind . . . (btw my Note 3 is already 388 ppi)
Do we need the latest technology . . . if it is available : Yes I do since I pay for it

But what the heck . . . I used to love my iPhones . . . went through all models untill the 5S

And now I swear by Samsung and I love their S-pen . . . I use it a lot actually

I agree Marc, I was very much like you, I had every iPhone up to but not including the 5S, I then changed to Nexus and Samsung Galaxy lines, ATM I have a Galaxy S5 and see no reason to change. I still have a Mac book pro and iPad Mini and would not swap either.

I may also go for a Note 4.

I still have my MB Air and my new laptop will be another MB Air no doubt about that !
If you ask me there's no alternative

But the SN4 is just a better phone

Even compare both camera's . . . .
iPhone 6 :

Front 8 MP f/2.2 and Rear 1.2 MP f/2.2

Samsung Note 4 :

Front 16 MP f/2.4 and Rear 3.7 MP f/1.9

Why did Apple not offered the same resolution ?
Can't be that hard if even Samsung has them 'standard' . . .

Also the swappable battery on the Note is a big advantage

But het just my .02

Not sure if it's on Android or not. But the on the new iPhones you can double tap (not click) the home button and the hard to reach stuff on top falls to a reachable distance with your thumbs. It's pretty smart and nice for when you are not used to a large screen phone... Like me!

Curious......How do calendars/notes sync to your macbook? I love the iPhone but the Note 3 was nice and thinking the Note 4 is really going to be stellar and I'm thinking of jumping ship after 10 years

We will never know I guess. In any case the demand is huge for the iPhone Plus, and the 38-40 the Apple store near me had in stock were sold out within the first 25 people in line. Most of them bought two each.

I had a Galaxy S4 for a few months, and I liked the size but the Operating System was total garbage. Android and its derivatives may be the most unnecessarily convoluted user interfaces I've ever come across. Kudos to Apple for always keeping their operating systems streamlined and intuitive in the face of these Windows-like messes on other phones (and computers). They are smart for picking up the decent features here and there that are worthwhile and not tacking on the endless amounts of useless features that most companies use as selling points.

I do wish they would give an option to turn off the stupid swiping motion screen-command in Safari that moves backwards and forwards in the webpage history. Every so often I hit it by mistake and it erases all the typing I've entered into a forum box. I guess I will turn it off with a jailbreak eventually...

Yeah, I love my 6+ and my daughter loves her 6.

I was a little frustrated at first trying to take watch selfie pics for IG with it, but I found a great workaround. I just use regular photo mode so the photo screen drops down further and it is easier to focus and then snap the shot with one hand, and then I crop it on IG.

And a great branding . . . actually a lot of people can't live without their iPhone . . . . they think

I tried out the Galaxy S4 between the 5 and 5s. What a mess of an operating system. No thanks! I ate the loss and bought the 5s after a few months of frustration....

You just need to get used to it

Never had any problems with my iPhones but same thing with my Note 3 . . . until today it works flawless. . .

It's OK. I STILL miss my Motorola Startac. I swear as these things keep getting BIGGER, I'm going to do what ever it takes to go back to a small, NOT-SMART flip-phone. You know... One that just makes calls and does rudimentary texting.

The 6+ is obviously too big for my taste. I already have an Ipad. Really?

I'll wait for the 6s... IF it has the sapphire glass. Again, for me... Even the 6 will be too big once a screen protector and small case is snapped on it. With the sapphire glass, I will not need either. I am hard on phones, so unless I want to replace it every six months, I need a case... Unless it has the upgraded "almost unbreakable" glass.

If not.. I'll upgrade my 5 to the 5s and that will be the last phone for a looooong time.

Oh Samsung fans... The bigger one isn't for us, it's for YOU, to lure you over.

It can't be that they just prefer a more well thought out interface?

I build my own PCs for gaming, because there aren't as many great games for OS X, and console controllers are not for me. Still, I much prefer OS X. Apple did a great job of making a computer that anyone can figure out from day one. I can't say the same for Windows systems, which are convoluted, partially because the OS was originally a hack built over DOS and then they never had the balls to change it once people were used to it. Even when they attempted to change it underneath they basically kept the same convoluted interface.

Apple was smart in bringing that same ease of use interface to phones. If they have a large following it is because they make a great product. They can charge the same amount as these other companies that have some additional features/parts and higher resolutions, and they still do exceptionally well in the marketplace. It because their product is more well thought out and finished overall than the other phones, which are more like hacks than well-designed operating systems.

I thought so at first, I gave it a chance and some time and find it much better and intuitive now, but if your happy with iOS, thats the one for you. I won't return.

After a few months I didn't care anymore about getting used to it. I didn't like it. Especially disliked all the bizarre things I had to do to download a file and then find where the phone OS was hiding it. Very annoying stuff. And I won't even go into all the small little unnecessary things the phone did that were supposed to be eye candy and noise candy. It's not for me. If I want bells and whistles that will bore me after a week and annoy me after two weeks, I will install them myself.

Likewise, syncing to computers, what a mess and a hassle! You multiply all of the problems with Windows with that of the phone and you have Android syncing.

I think you should just stay with your iPhone, I don't find any difficulty with the things you describe, I must admit I don't find Android as complicated as you seem to do, but there ya go, not for everyone.

I will say, I do love the bigger screen on the 6+, but it should be a tiny bit smaller. Not a lot, but a tiny bit...

Yeah, I do a lot of things most people don't on their phones with files and stuff using apps. Galaxy was not friendly with that kind of thing at all...

You find the file management system on iOS better than on Android? I must admit I find that hard to believe.

Absolutely. The apps handle managing the files I download. No mess, no fuss.

The problem with Android is that each manufacture takes the base OS and modifies it. In terms of making a good thing bad, Samsung is the worst offender. You need to try STOCK Android (Nexus 5 or any Google Play Edition phone). It has everything that you want and nothing that you don't. I made the switch from the 5s to the Nexus 5 last year and I got used to Android very quickly. I will not buy an Android phone with anything but stock Android.
