New Rolex AD Los Angeles

Very excited that my sleepy little street is going to get a new Rolex AD this month! Located on Larchmont street in Los Angeles which has recently blossomed from a small mom and pop shop feel to a cosmopolitan shopping destination, the new AD looks almost done.

Was able to snap a quick pic through the newly installed windows today before they were boarded up for security pre opening.

Do we know if they are under a larger umbrella? Gearys? Watches of Switzerland?

It's part of Hing Wa Lee and looks like will be named Larchmont Jewelers

Find out what day the grand opening is. Show up a day early and see if they’re inside setting up. Play dumb, and be Uber excited that they’re opening up.

…Then ask to get on their list for Pepsi and Daytona

It’ll need to be boarded up every night in LA. Very dangerous place.

Naw it's a very safe area. But because it's a jewelry store, I'd expect they'll have some added security over and above the other retail tenants on the street.

Maybe it will be like the Bucherer Boutique in the NY Meatpacking District. Separate Rolex and Tudor only sections but with an interconnecting door.

That’s how the Hing Wa Lee store is. Same ownership group as this new one.

Anyone have experience with Hing Wa Lee? They are one local AD I’ve only been in once or twice.

I was at the Hing Wa Lee Pasadena/San Marino location Sunday, no stock. Very nice and pleasant, I was treated kindly and she has followed up twice this week and its only Wednesday. I was very transparent with them about not being a serious buyer and I feel she appreciated it. Recommend them if you are in area and insist on AD. Otherwise, Patrick (OCRolexGuy) in Huntington Beach is my trusted guy and Trusted TRF seller.

I feel like some AD's are starting to realize they need relationships now with eligible buyers for when the tables turn in the next couple of years (inventory, economy, overall unpredictable watch market, etc).

I went to the store in San Gabriel and they were very nice, it’s a great store lots of watches to look at. Nothing for sale in the Rolex area. I asked for a Sub it’s been crickets.

I've been able to purchase from them (Walnut location). Was fortunate that my SA from a previous AD that lost the Rolex account found a position there.

Hing Wa Lee hosts many events that cater to the high net worth individuals. I've been invited via a local Ferrari dealer. They used to host Cars and Chronos that would bring in the hyper / exotic car crowd.

Bottom line a lot of competition vying for desired pieces. Found it easier to get allocations from another AD I frequent.

They do get the rare pieces like the last Lemans, the Deep Sea Challenge, titanium Yatchmaster, ...

Over the last 3y, Hing Wa Lee has become notorious for bundling and "rewarding" customers with somewhat difficult to get rolexes. By that i mean stainless subs, GMT's, daytonas, colored OPs. After customers have purchased other brands in their other stores... Girard Perregaux, Blancpain, Breguet, Breitling, Hublot, Ulysses Nardin... etc. they will usually soften up on the "no stock right now" verbiage. They're good about discounting their other brands though. You can negotiate for up to 30%-40% off their other brands.

They've also offered to sell at above retail price and bundle before. Such is usually the case at other dealers. It's just a practicality thing. David has to generate additional income for his Ferrari collection somewhere.

It might be different at the new Larchmont location if it is Rolex only and is branded differently but that's the game at their other two stores.
