Right there with you fsprow. I’ve never once advertised my watch. As the young people today say, that would be “cringe.”

No matter what I wear (Seiko, Omega, Tudor, Breitling or Rolex) it’s to 90% “Nice watch! Is that a Rolex?”

So how about a watch, man?

Any other first words comments to you on your watch?

I love my watches, I don’t hide them or show them off. If someone asks, I have no problem talking watches.

A little off topic, but I had a guy ask me today if my LV was a Citizen… I said, “no, it’s a Rolex” and just went on with the conversation. He seemed not to really care and said it looked like a watch his granddad had. He didn’t really compliment or anything so I moved on.

I try not to engage or bring up conversations about what I’m wearing unless someone approaches the subject by demonstrating some knowledge to show that they are an enthusiast as well.

I guess I come here to read all of the great comments and opinions so I get my fill.

No, the Tudor owners and watch enthusiasts I know are happy to stand on our own. But thanks all the same.

My wife's comments are always precious. I am always adding GMTs to the collection and her comments have now become her mantra when I show her a recent GMT acquisition - which goes like this....well, it looks like all the other ones you have!!! She is so precious

My best comment, which was intended as a compliment, was from a dealer at a gun show in Dallas while wearing one of my vintage "Pepsi" GMTs.

As I conversed with the dealer and traded gun stories at his table, he seemed to be enamored with my GMT and eventually before finishing our conversation he commented that the Submariner that I was wearing was very nice. I nodded in agreement and said it was one of my favorites and, as I left his table, I told him that it was the same model Submariner worn in the James Bond movies. Oh well!

Agreed Dan! I would only ever mention it if someone took an interest and asked about the brand for more detail.

They’re fantastic watches in their own!

“Why are you holding out your arm and why did you choose the urinal right next to me?”

I can only think of a few times when someone commented on my watch outside of a watch meetup.

Tudor owners with insecure mentality maybe. I have never had to mention Rolex. In fact whenever someone who knows me asks me if that’s a new Rolex, I correct them.

“No. It’s a Tudor”

I’ve noticed people checking out whatever watch I was wearing at the time but not saying anything. Once I was wearing a white dialed Seiko 5 that cost me 50 dollars and got a compliment from a young lady.

I must be a bass player cause this timing is impeccable. Just yesterday I was leaving a store when an employee said to me "love that watch, I'm a bit of a watch nut." I extended my arm to reveal my Tudor BB GMT on BC nato, and then pointed to my Tudor hat. He said "I gotta get one of those", pointing to the watch, "and one of those", pointing to the hat. Funny.........Rolex was never mentioned.

One person noticied my watch and that was my barber who couldnt help but see it. Nobody else notices or cares. I had a parent on the sidelines of my sons lax game do a bunch of double takes but never said anything. Sub no date btw...People who think they're gonna buy a nice watch for the compliments need to try a different avenue.

I must be, Nick. Although w/ the great references Tudor releases year after year maybe it works better the other way around.

Haha I was thinking the same thing.

I’m still waiting to get on board, when they put out their RBR F1 watch I am day one on that.

I own assorted Tissot, Tudor, Omega and Rolex. Never once have I mentioned my watch and never once has anyone pointed a watch out.

I'm very cool with that. I wear them for me, not for other folks and I prefer to be down low.

I very much like Tudor watches ... please do not mistake my observations as a negative comment towards the brand. But yes, every Tudor owner I know from watch groups I attend to people on the street always state the "connection" between the brands.

Again, please do not mistake my observations as a negative statement about the brand itself. I would agree with Nick's statement that it is more a factor of the insecurity of the owners.
