Smurf on SS SUB for 2014?

Any rumors or chance the Blue on blue will come out for the sub in stainless? Looks amazing in the white gold.
That would be my dream come true.

Logically, why would Rolex do that? The blue is what visually differentiates the WG version from the SS version. It is exclusive to that model for a reason...to clearly distinguish it as the "aspirational" version of the Submariner.

I have no idea but I would doubt it. It wouldn't make sense for rolex because that would limit the people spending the premium for the white gold. Its also how you can easily tell white gold from the steel as its the only one with that face. I would be shocked if it ever happened, if they did I would assume it would be a different shade of blue

No, it won't happen, for reasons above explained. Also, the Sub already has quite a few variations (8, if I count it well), I don't think it's necessary to further expand the Sub collection. But if Rolex wanted to add something new, I'd bet it would be a RG or Pt version.

that would be like rolex making a SS daytona with the glacier blue face and chocolate dial from the platinum.

And those who have the WG model already would have reason to be just a touch unhappy.

The YM2 SS doesn't have the same dial or bezel as the WG version.
Not even close to looking like the WG.

Well, those pesky Polished Center Links do a little bit towards indicating gold instead of stainless steel. If you can see the color of the face, I'd think you can see the PCLs.

I didn't say it was the only way to tell WG I don't think white gold when I see a GMT SS and those are polished center links.

It would diminish my 18K WG enthusiasm totally if they did.
