Thank you guys for your input.
What’s your estimation for Expl2 vs DJ41 in terms of value on the long run and from collector’s point of view, let’s say 20 years ahead? I’ve been reading a lot about Expl2 coming back strong and gaining more appreciation by the day in these times of SS scarcity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

With that collection, I'd keep the 16710 and open up a 529 or something in the baby's name and dump the 8900 into that. Especially with the markets being where they are at currently.

I think the DJ will always be the classic piece that transcends generations and the Explorer will always be the more unqiue piece that you won't see on other guys around you. They each have their own merit. For what it's worth, I'd go for the Explorer 2. 2020 might be the last run for the current model and will most likely be discontinued with it's anniversary coming up in 2021. Would be a good story to get last steel bezel verison if rumors are true that it's going ceramic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Today I had the chance at my AD to try the watches I was supposed to choose from.
Before trying it on, I really belived the DJ41 on jubilee and fluted bezel would fit me just right but is seems it wears too small for my wrist: Instead, today visit has made me understand the oyster bracelet will be the right choice for me, at the right moment. BUT that moment is not yet here, now is the time for EXPLORER II: Thank you everyone for your advices, I will come back with pictures when I’ll have it delivered, the day our baby boy will arrive. Stay safe and in good health! Cheers, B. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Congrats on the new bundle of joy...magical.
I have 7 1/4” wrists and here’s a pic of my Explorer with a couple of my DJ2’s. These watches add a lot of variety and I think if going for only one it would depend on where you intend wearing it most. The Exp 2 is a very handsome watch, takes a beating and sits thinner on the wrist than you might expect. The DJ’s are the same but I would not want to subject a fluted bezel to too many knocks and scrapes. Tough call. |
