Incoming Explorer 40

Been waiting for my AD to replace my sold TT 36 Explorer with a 40 SS for about 6 months now. Honestly not really sure when it will happen. I happened to come across a grey dealer selling a brand new one from Asia. They wanted $8700, I counter offered $8500 and was immediately accepted. Negotiate tip: never accept the first offer, never accept the first counter offer. So immediately I feel like I could have gotten it cheaper. I didn't really commit the way I phrased it so I slept it over. Next day I was ready to commit when another grey dealer posted to sell for $9000. This time I offered even less than I did the first dealer and we end up over $100 lower than the first dealer. Plus this dealer is in Canada. It end up well because they were super professional and fast. I got the watch in 2 days. They double wrapped it in fedex bubble envelopes then double boxes it in cardboard. Then use heavy duty tape. Anyway I'm pretty happy.

If luck would have it my AD is probably gonna call me next week all of a sudden to tell me they have the same watch to offer

I'm not sure how I'll ever get a Daytona at MSRP from and AD if I keep buying from grey.

Love that thing. I overpaid for mine by about $1K and I do not care.

Congrats, wear it health! Considering you got it essentially at retail + tax in CA, pretty solid pickup.

2 of my 3 rolexes are from the same Canadian grey dealer in Toronto.
Super professional, easy to deal with, cash deal, no tax.

Explorer 40

Great choice and decision. My AD promised me in May he would have no problem getting me that model within a couple of months. Stopped into a different AD in July, with no purchase history ,and there it was! And offered to me ,so I am enjoying it since. Welcome to the explorer club.

Congrats! I have the 36, which is a better size for me. Love all the Explorers, though… To me, they are just CLASSIC and COOL, at the same time!

Congrats! Almost picked up the 40 in July but it wore big on my 6.75 wrist -- even in comparison to my IWC XX. Ended up with the 36, which I absolutely love. So close to the perfect watch, whatever the configuration.
